Hello.
I came across the thread about the Metro North M1 and found I could make trainz in sketchup. I was wondering if sombody could give me a walk through on exactly how I'm supposed to get it into gmax, add trucks and couplers, and add light placements. Any help is appreciated!

You can get the new version which can send into gmax and from there read tutorials on how to add the bogeys and passenger points

jimmyp4: There is a program called "Ruby T-MIX", but it will only do static things..However, you can get it in to Trainz..It is not animated though..

Hello Jimmyp4

In sketchup ( version 8 ) export your model to name.dae

Using modelconverter and within modelconverter - import your name.dae -

next step = export to name.3ds

In GMax : import name.3ds

Best regards

Further to the above, a name.dae file is a Collada file and some warehouse models are downloadable in that form as zip files. You then have quite a lot of work in GMax to apply the textures, isolate the bogies and animate them before you will have workable Trainz rolling stock.
