USA Pics

It's mid July 1997 and we find LSRC 8520 heading south through La Salle Illinois on train M310 bound for the Granville interchange with BNSF Railway.

Closer to Granville now, we catch the train screaming across the rolling country side, just 3 miles from the interchange and a much needed crew rest. today, 8520 is still sporting the railroads original "Dark Days" paint scheme while sister engine, 5601 has been freshly repainted not 2 weeks ago. All 4 locomotives on todays M310 were bought directly from Southern Pacific just before the UP take over, with the GP40-2, 7100, still sporting her SP paint scheme. Both 8520 and 7100 still sport their SP road numbers.

Hello, one and all. I'm Jessica K, some of you probably know that I got this account from a friend several years back. I've just been slow to post, mostly due to me playing a whole bunch of other games. But, not too long ago, I got Trainz 19, and have been adding some stuff in for some fun. I made the jump from TANE to 19, since 19 was on sale. Anyway, here's one of my first screenshots in 19.

About the image.
This is from a personal session I made for myself called Ballast In, Ties Out on the Franklin Avenue Industrial route. Personally, I set it as a fictional Conrail Shared Assets Operations secondary in northern New Jersey, so I use NS and CSX Geeps for power as they shuffle transfer traffic off both CSX and NS.

So, over the Steam Winter Sale, I got some stuff for 19 that I didn't have in TANE. Midwestern Branch is one of them, along with the Amtrak F40PHs. This is from another personal session of mine called BN Local. In my lore of the route, the branch to Mill Town was operated by the Great Northern, Burlington Northern, BNSF, and later MWB Shortline, which later was sold to Watco, which soon meant power from WAMX roads like Wisconsin and Southern would be possible and BNSF would grant WSOR trackage rights to reach the isolated part of Watco. This session is meant to be early 90s before the FRA mandated the use of ditchlights.
I also took a clip of the meet pictured here and used a filter to make it look like a scene from the 90s.
If you wish to watch, enjoy. I also have some clips from various runs in Train Sim Classic on the channel too.

Sometimes your railroads paint shop can surprise you when you tell them to "Patch this unit." without giving them much context. Here we see ex UP 172 waiting in the hole in La Salle as 5603 glides past heading north towards Rockford Illinois. The paint shop managed to really keep the "UP Look" with this patch job, keeping the UP's "City Of" font while also applying the LSRC's "Diamond" logo to the units nose. 172, along with sisters 170 and 177 would all receive this patch job in 1995 and wouldn't be fully repainted until 2001.

"We are the Borg... your railroad will be assimilated... Resistance is futile." Or something to that degree when it came to UP in the 80's and 90's.

Love to all, I've added even more freeware rolling stock since my last post. This is once again on the Franklin Avenue Industrial route. Again, personal session. This one is called Blue Times and is set before the Conrail breakup. The gist is, usually the line is quiet at night. But, earlier, train ALOI (Yes, I checked and am using an accurate Conrail symbol.) dropped off some freight, so rather than just prepare your deliveries for OIPI (again, using accurate symbols) to take onward to Allentown, Pennsylvania and by extension, Conway Yard in Pittsburgh, you have to set out your inbound cars too, before you can call it a night.

With the fuel topped off, MWB Shortline Incorporated's (A division of Watco.) recently acquired former Milwaukee Road SDL39s are being prepped for a busy morning on the railroad.
Another custom session, this one called Blast From The Past. In this session, you're dealing with a busy morning on the MWB Shortline. First, by loading grain for BNSF, then, taking ballast to Mill Town and assembling a train and bringing it back to Littleport. Notes: This is a bit more fictitious than most since I doubt any of the exported SDL39s will come back. But, for this session, what if FEPASA sold three back to the US. They were shipped up to Seattle from Chile and were then transported to Burlington, Iowa via BNSF and were refurbished and regauged. To sweeten the pot, BNSF found an old MILW bay window caboose and refurbished it for the railroad free of charge. This session is set three months after it happened, in late Summer 2019.
