I found the PVR local stopped just short of the crossing today so I decided to stop and take a picture. By the time I got into position it had started moving.

I followed it a little ways and I found out why it was stopped. A turnout had frozen shut, but after a 30 minute delay things were back up and running.

I took a few more pictures and then I had to head for home. It was freezing and I wasn't dressed warm enough.

Moving at a thundering 10 miles per hour, CRB 1769, ex-NW, with a GP38-2 and SW1500, make their way leading a coal train on it's way back to Conrail from a power plant.
