US 1930's - 60's screenshot thread

yea its a weird kinda color kind of like old and new. its what ever i liked the detail so thats why i used it...

I think its meant to be a transition from brown ballasted track to grey ballasted track. You can probably find track with only brown ballast or grey ballast on the DLS, by the same creator.;)

A run down small village to nice small town starting to populate.

In the second picture down, where did you find that abandoned combine? And the water tower next to the station?

I have a few places I could use stuff like that (I am always on the lookout for abandoned things)

DS storage tank rusted.

Thanks, Alex.

Tyler, the road is called "cobblestone" something or another on the DLS. There is a 4m, 6m, and 8m version that will help you find the right ones. The way I have laid it out was cobbled together for a lack of better words. There are no intersections and accessories used, it is all done with the road splines. Fortunately, this particular road blends into itself nicely. The side walks are separate, and the texture on the sides is also called cobbles or cobblestone but I don't remember where it came from, although it was probably the DLS. I think ground textures are the one area where 09 & 10 really make 06 look out dated, so I hope no one reads this and calls me a hypocrite for saying that.

That little island doesn't look the best up close. There are a few little triangles from the DLS stuck together. There are a few other parts I might try. I also have running traffic and the Sen City road switcher further down the road, which allows cars to turn right, giving me traffic parallel to the tracks, and I will have a similar intersection further down where the tracks exit the street which will provide traffic at in the opposite direction. The switcher is cool, since it can lead the cars to turn right so there are never cars running red lights turning left. Some cars will stop for the train, but the switcher is so far back that when it times out, other cars will turn right as the train comes through. It's not perfect yet, but it is working.
