Updating Trainz Asset Database

Occassionally, on Startup, I receive a message stating "Updating Trainz Asset
Database" followed by a very lengthy scan/check. Two of the checks are "Scanning for Modified Asset Files" and "Checking of Faulty Assets".

Obviously, the checks are incorporated for a purpose but as there are no reports I would be interested in hearing what they are achieving.

This particular dialog box is basically a database repair.

The likely cause is that you are shutting down your system too quickly after closing Trainz.

Wait for approximately 5 minutes to allow Trainz to close completely.

Thank you for your advice which I have put into operation. It is possible that the checking occurred due to "Launching Trainz" from Content Manager, after downloading items from the Download Station, and on closing Trainz the system returned to Content Manager. I assume that the position arose because I immediately made an exit from Content Manager instead a waiting for a few minutes, as suggested.

The 'Launch Trainz' option should work OK, although it depends how quickly you shut down after closing Content Manager.
