UP Old and New

"EMD's newest model, an SD70ACe, on the right sits alongside (UP 844) 64-year-old Alco 4-8-4. UP 1989 is backing into Union Station in Denver to pick up cars for a passenger train."

Over the summer, I managed to get a few good pictures of both engines (but not together like this shot)

That's a very cool picture. Union Pacific seems to emply most of the railfanning goodies.

True, I've noticed this past summer U.P. has been very rainfan friendly.
I had a run-in with one of their special agents when getting some closeups
of UP 1989 parked at the La Salle yard. He chatted with me for a while and allowed me to continue, even though I was technically trespassing.

I've noticed officials have been much more friendly up in Canada too.
