Unwanted Artifact From Route Migration

How do I get rid of this artifact? It was created during migration from TRS2010 from kuid:523:23310, which is shown as an available asset on the download station. I cannot delete it, edit it, move it or otherwise do anything to it. I did mange to detach the assets that were connected at each vertex, but that is about all. I have tried an extended database rebuild, attempted to delete entirely the related kuid, but the artifact still exists and cannot be deleted. I even tried to re-migrate the route again from TRS2010 after rebuilding the database there - with the same result. I have run out of ideas.

That's a missing asset marker. Either need to find it or you can turn off the show missing assets option in the Menu settings. Probably was originally crossing boards or similar.

Not quite

Yeah -- no. I know it is from a missing asset - specifically the kuid mentioned, one of BSNF50s crossings. I tried to delete it as a missing asset, no luck. I then tried to re-import the crossing via .cdp from the asset in my TRS2010 route and install it in the TRS2019 route. It imported OK, but there is no association between it and the artifact anymore. I cannot select the imported asset in Surveyor, nor the artifact while editing the route. Finally, I attempted to re-download the kuid from the download station, which was shown as obsolete, but available. Still could not access the artifact, although I could access the downloaded asset in surveyor, although it would not permit creation of another crossing. When I tried to add it I get only a "thump" sound from the mouse action. I WAS able to delete the track from the crossing by creating another temporary route layer, moving the track to it and them deleting the layer. However, I could not do the same for the road spline or for the actual asset artifact. I cannot select them in the Surveyor Properties in order to move them to the temporary layer.

If the asset doesn't show up in Content Manager, the info needs to be narrowed down from the huge list of displayed assets and you need to filter (sort) the information differently.

First I recommend adding in all the columns across the top. Right-click somewhere on the top and check all the unchecked columns. By default they'll all be plopped to the far right. You can drag them into any order and resize them how you wish.

You can now click on date modified, or date installed for example, and get a listing of everything for that date in chronological order.

The other thing that is most helpful is to change the view from Installed to open for edit, which may explain why it doesn't appear in the route, or check for faulty assets.

Click on the word Installed, and pick Open for edit.

If your asset appears in the list, right-click on it and choose revert to original. This means it's already installed.
If it appears red, then it needs repairing when checked in the Faulty asset view.

For more detailed instructions on how to use the new Content Manager, see this here:

I sometimes get these "stranded" assets from time to time. I can get rid of them by doing the following.
While in Surveyor go to tools 'F5'. There are 4 options - Paste height, past textures, past objects, paste track. Go to a part of your baseboard which has no objects and copy a section of this. Then paste the over the part of the baseboard where you have the stranded assets. This should get rid of the unwanted assets. I usually only copy and paste the objects, since the height, textures and track are OK.
