Unknown Update/Download Today??

I had a 10 item download of something today. I have no idea what it is. I can't notice any new routes and I do not know what locomotives I had before the download. It was many MBytes but a mystery....

If it was sc297 (I also got it this morn) it's ECML Kings Cross.

Already had this route so I'm guessing it's an upgrade to 19. Haven't had a chance to load it up yet.

ECML downloaded this am. Attempted to run the route in Build 97513. With session "Flying Scotsman" out of Kings, Cross, very low frame rates at 4-5 Fps were observed. Route abandoned!!

Peter.

Me too. Must be difficult to make a 1080Ti look like a slide show.

I haven't tried it yet, but I noticed a lot of chunking after the route and other content (my monthly downloads) installed when I went in to check out a route I've been working on. Upon checking the log, using show logs, I saw validating taking place. After that settled in stuff seems to be back to normal. I'm going to drive the ECML now and see how it works. Let's hope that's all it was...

I also have a 1080Ti as well....

After letting stuff settle in, the route is chunky in the built-up areas, but not a slide show. A view of the logs shows some assets that need updates, which might be causing the chunking as these assets load.

Initial look, extreme stuttering also 1080TI, TRS19 is on a 500GB Samsung 860 Evo......... Not to mention shadows under roads and tracks and prehistoric ground textures and non procedural track, may be wrong thought this was going to be an improved version given that the original ECML was already installed and worked. Now listed as obsolete payware.
Simple entry in the configs for roads and track would have fixed the shadow issue or made it not obvious that the track is floating. Yeah, I am fussy about things that float ;o)

Going to have another go later and see if it improves at all.

Wonder if any one has one of the self destructing RTX2080 or 2080TI's that's still working to see how it is with the latest and greatest ..........:o

Edit: Still got the original on my other PC, no problems with stuttering or anything else performance wise Ryzen 5 1600 + GTX980TI

So went into Surveyor on both PCs

Compared same place on New version on main PC extremely jerky, exactly the same settings on both PCs and same TRS19 beta build, 97513.
While I was there I took the option to save a copy of the original.

After reading the comments above I ran ECML Flying Scotsman on two different gaming machines.
One my trusty i7-4790K @4.6 Ghz with an Asus GTX-1070 and Samsung 850 EVO SSD, and the other an i7-8700k with an EVGA GTX-1080Ti and running a Samsung 970 EVO PCIe SSD .
Both loaded very slowly the first time around due to pre-caching.
Jerky initial video pan-shot before being seated in the cab of the Deltic diesel on both.
After that, frame-rates improved markedly and progress was smooth on both rigs.

ECML has never looked better than now in TRS2019 - but there are still a few remaining visual issues with tunnels and legacy vegetation, etc.

Second runs were much faster to load and smoother again.
Did get a GSECTION::LoadMiniMap corruption assertion dialog upon 1st load with both installations, which needed to be cleared (and bug-report documented) before proceeding.

Yup with the precaching. If you check the logs, it shows assets being validated too. I think it's best to wait, or bring up Content Manager after downloading to allow the new content to be validated and settle in before attempting the sessions.

I didn't get that corrupt mini-map error on this route, but I did get it on the Balazino/Mosti session I downloaded.

Solved here, updated version worked fine on number 2 PC. So decided to look at Resource Monitor, flipping Game bar crap was running and Game mode was on, I had turned it off it prior to updating to 1809, still off on number 2 PC, anyway turning it off......again, while in surveyor, instant fix. Flipping useless Microsoft unwanted crap. :n:

Getting fed up with fixing the OS after "feature Upgrades".

Thanks for the tip about Game Bar, Malc. I had never even heard of it until just now. Switched off on the main PC and will be switched off on the laptop tomorrow.

Sometimes I miss the simple days of DOS, when you didn't have an OS stuffed with all this junk.

Yup. I turn it on only as needed. I just checked and it was on again after an update!

The other culprit is GeForce Experience. I discontinued loading and that made a world of difference too. There are equivalent POS for AMD cards as my bro found out on his machine. Unloaded that and his frame rates went up on whatever game he plays.
