Union Pacific 844 In Las Vegas!!

I had no idea it was going to be here!! While working on the tour busses late yesterday (The bus yard is right next to the UP main line) I was treated with a sudden "chuff-chuff-chuff" - I crawled out from under our faithful MCI12 and there was UP844!!!:udrool: I'm going down to the UP yard today and will post pics later. Man she was beautiful in action!! Couldn't have been more perfect as the sun had set and the sky had it's last hues of gold above the mountains..... wow.... droool.....:udrool:

Not only did 844 take off at 7:15 this morning instead of 8:00 as scheduled, but I woke up late, so I couldn't get to the rail yard in time for departure - So at risk of sounding like a total foamer.... I took off up to Apex and caught a runby (like a respnsible railfan) from the desert. My kids absolutely LOVED it (4 and 9 yrs old). I'll have that roll of film (yes, still 35mm) processed later and will post a link.

Hey, buddy I'd trade you places in a second. I loved Sitka when I was there (but that was in '87) Vegas has issues - especially right now. We're all in purgatory here until this economy/employment/government changes. Folks here are getting desperate, families here are on the street, and crime is waaay up. These are the things they don't like to talk about on the news.

It's coming here to Ogden this weekend. I'll try to go snap some pix, but I just got out of the hospital (digestive problems) and am not sure I can go. If I do, I will post pictures.
