Uninstalled TANE by mistake

How do you uninstall anything from Task Manager? When TRS19 and TRS22 install, they show as "TANE" in the list of installed apps (reported a countless times but never fixed). Consequently you may have uninstalled TRS19 instead.

Another mistake. I should have mentioned Control Panel instead of Task Manager. If you are correct, then my only option is to reinstall TRS19. Is that correct?

Look for "TRS19.exe" on your computer. If you can't find it, the answer is: (unfortunately) yes. Then you should thank N3V... You could also think at saving the game somewhere (e.g. external drive or anywhere else) in case something goes wrong.

In Uninstall or change a program

Retail

TANE, shows up as Trainz a new era
TRS19, shows up as Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019
TRS22, shows up as Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022
Trainz Plus, shows up as Trainz a new era*

Steam

TANE, shows up as Trainz a new era
TRS19, shows up as Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019
TRS22, shows up as Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022
Trainz Plus, shows up as Trainz Plus

My TRS19 (Retail) always showed as TANE as does my TRS22 Plus (Retail). I always modify the registry to set the correct name, but each time a patch applies it sets it to TANE again. There have been several posts in different threads concerning this issue.
Thanks for pointing this out, as I have never checked the Control Panel Programs and Features section where you can remove installed applications. Mine does show TANE. :geek:

I have installed TRS19 from my external hard drive but when I try to upload the latest patch I'm getting an error message. As of now what I have is a bare bones TRS19. How do I get my content back?

You can download the most recent version of TRS19 again from My Trainz. The downloads are located under the product downloads section located on the lefthand side of the page.

John, I want to make it as easy as possible for this old man with limited computer skills to get my program back. If I download the latest version, what will I have to do to get all My Content (Routes) installed into the latest version?

Install the new version. Two things can happen.

1) It won't find your data and you'll have to find it using the Trainz settings on the launcher.
2) It'll install and find your content because the userdata-redirect-map.txt already has the information where your data is located.

Based on my experience, item two has a greater possibility of occurring.

Thank you, John. What do I need to do with the version I have on the computer now? I'm assuming that with the new install it will overwrite the old version, correct?

Remove that one and reinstall again with the downloaded updated version from My Trainz.
