Un-Portal Problem

I set up an Un-portal rule on my new Sherman Hill vers 2 route to get some AI going. The first one works great and I have two consists going out of that one. When I set the second portal up to generate another consist, about 20 miles away, only the locomotive comes out, with no other rolling stock attached. Has anyone else has this problem. I read someone posting that if a spline was just past the portal exit, that could generate a problem, but that was not the issue here.

I had a similar problem when I placed the trackmark I used as a portal too close to a track node. Try placing the trackmark so that there are no track nodes within a couple car lengths from the trackmark in both directions (200 feet should be enough).

Well, I tried numerous combinations of consists and location of the track marker away from any node, for the Portal, and as soon as I add a second portal. one of them only emits the locomotive with no cars. It looks like that Un-portal rule only like to work with one portal. Guess I will have to install a couple of basic portals on this route.

I don't know if this is a TS12 issue (I hope not!), but in TS2010 I made a session with two TM acting as portals and it worked smoothly.

In that session, the player drives a railcar which meets two trains, a freight train and a passenger train. The opposing trains were generated by two different portals (each one of them generating one of 8 possible trains, with different consists and orders, just to make the session playable again and again by varying the train consists and the stations where the meets take place).

I just checked the session: I used an "Un-portal" rule for every portal emitting trains (two portals, two rules).

A single "Un-portal" rule should be able to manage several trackmarks used as portals, but if I remember correctly I used two of them because of some issue, though I do not remember if I also saw single locomotives coming out like you.

I'll ask to a friend of mine who helped developing that sessions, but I think he will answer no earlier than tomorrow.

Ah Ha!!! I was using one rule for two portals. Went back and added another Un-portal rule, and now I have complete trains coming out of both portals. Thanks, I would have never figured that one out..

Here, the two trackmarks "Granite Track 1 East" and "Granite Track 2 East" are both set as portals (with two separate rules) and are both emitting complete trains. I think it also works with more than two portals, as long as each portal has its own dedicated "Un-portal" rule.
