UK Semaphore Signals

I couldn't find the jetstreamsky signals on the DLS, but there is a signal based on one of them by honeymonster1971. It's not going to be so easy to reuse older signals unfortunately as the new ones are built in a modular fashion in that the arms and posts are separate meshes. The old signal is all in one mesh and with only one animation file for both arms.

The easiest solution for changing the appearance of the new signals is to reskin them using colours that are slightly less bright.

Hi again

Have you had a look at the ones on trainzone? ....

One more intresting but Victorian Australian, they are somersolts.

Jetstreamsky's GWR, LMS and VR signals are right there on the DLS. Search under Username "jetstreamsky", the signals are on the 4th page or so.

Remember that if you Search for older Content on the DLS , you must make sure all the boxes are ticked, otherwise content for that version of Trainz will not show...:(

I had just 2004 and 2006 checked when I did the search (username=jetstreamsky). Lots of signals came up.

I don't quite understand what Paul is saying here, the branch bracket signals with two arms work OK, (the left signal raises when the train branches left, etc.,) so surely there is separate animation for each arm, even if it's the same animation file used twice. I don't see the problem. But Paul is the expert and I am not.

Hi guys,

All of Jetstreemsky's Signals have been rereleased under my username:-
Alex23
Kuid 193148:

They have been debugged, and certain textures corrected.

They work in 2004, 2006 and TC --- Caution ---- The 2004 left branch/ Right Branch bug has not been corrected. This is a 2004 problem.

I have not tryed them in TC 3 as I am still on an extended holliday.:D :D :D :D

See ya's

Alex aka Alex23

There is also a wonderful set of wooden GWR signals by Jonny 211 though these are not animated although he did say he would give it a go in the future

I have used the UK semaphore signals from the DLS and have used the standard ones OK but..... have been trying to find an explanation as to how you assemble the other various components as signals to suit different junction arrangements. Their descriptions and what you get do not make sense and if you put all of them up alongside a piece of track in Surveyor, it is certainly not obvious how they could be assembled.

Anybody know how they go together? :o

e.g the DLS kuid 193148,074 shows two combined uprights as a bracket signal, but what you get is not anything like that.

Assistance please

This is a combination of two signals, The left one for the left track and the right for the right track. Place the dual 1 signal on the left track then either the dual 2 or 3 on the right track then move them so they look as if they are one.

Thanks for that, but I assume from your description that the combination does not make a junction signal but a bracket suitable for 2 parallel tracks?

I will try what you describe on a bit of track (or tracks)

Correct if you want a junction signal look for the branch left and branch right signals. These work correct as long as you have another signal on each of the two tracks before another junction.

Ok, next stage:

What if I have a facing junction with straight ahead and both right and left hand divergences, or a junction with 2 left divergences?

Any possibilities with these semaphore components?.

Thanks

There are 3 way junction signals in TC3 which can do this. I haven't found a way to do a gantry based 4 way signal yet, though.

Now if only there were some NER style lower quadrant signals I could almost be authentic on my route... ;)

Interesting re TC3. Will look at them

Presume that GWR lower quadrant signals are not suitable for your NER exploits? Look in the DLS by "GWR" search. They are limited to single diverging facing junctions and the usual Home and Distant and combinations but they brighten up a scene.
