UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Does anybody know how to make class 313/508's work in Trainz 12 because it says they're faulty, please help.

The best step to take would be to post in the TS12 thread as this one is really meant for screenshots. Also what faults the assets shows is helpful, otherwise it could be any old thing.

It would also depend on which version of the 313 you have too. uk901y's one is the place to start though mine worked no bother as I recall.

Great shots, everybody- always good to see loads of BR Blue.

Some blue, and some primer...

Comparing the two side by side I'm actually quite embarrassed by my original effort...:o

Cheers

Great shots as ever folks.

A few from a 'tweaked' Midshire and corporate blue rules the day, almost (apologies for the Dorman). R3, I'll be asking for reskin permission for sure... Both fantastic.

R3 that looks brilliant! Hopefully if will be easily reskinnable........

BTW I made new especs for the old 105 to get round the problem of them travelling below line speed under AI - let me know if you want them.

Here's a pic from a route I've been working on for a while. A Black 5 sits at the station with 5 MK1s. The Black 5 is called Black5 and the tender is Blk5 Tender.

I'd appreciate some feedback on it.

Since this page has a massive hint of blue in it, I'll contribute to the blues.... well.... ok............ No, lets not go there.

Its nearly ready for release without a cab (and passenger interior), I have to correct the passenger points in the DTS, add them to the TS (and correct that), likewise for the DMBS (and add some cables) and change the horn. I might release a Southern version as well, just for... well the fun of it, I need to change the seats though. And the whole lot needs a coat of blues.
If you haven't noticed, I've made a bad attempt at adding alpha numbers, but these don't work, does anyone know whats required for 09 onwards? I've never had alpha numbers working on any of my stock, because I found them difficult to work with.

Nice work, WEN.

By strange coincidence I've also been grappling with alphanumbers this morning.

You will need five planes, each mapped with a different material, named digitX.m.onetex, where X is from 2 to 6. You will then need to have digit_X.tga and digit_X.texture.txt files in the main folder of your asset. The digit tga files can be anything- they are just placeholders that will be swapped in game. In the asset folder you will also need a subfolder named along the lines of "yourassetname_alpha_numbers", containing the files alphanumber_0.tga to alphanumber_9.tga and nothing else. You then need to add the following tags to your config:
fonts 1
fonts-path "yourassetname"
The 'yourassetname' must match the start of the subfolder name containing the alphanumbers.

Anyway, keeping the blue theme going...

@Stovepipe- great shots. I would definitely be interested in accurate especs for the 105. Any possibility that you could upload yours to the dls?

Tried that, sadly, I don't get a result. So, something odd is going on. What version of Trainz have you made the 105 in? I'm also wondering if I need spaces than underscores.

EDIT:
Several hours testing and still nowhere:
Sub folder called "BR Class 502 DTS_alpha_numbers"
Asset is called "BR Class 502 DTS"
I have 2 fonts (one for the front, one for the sides)
20 fonts 0a to 9a and same for b, digit_2 to 6 used and well, you get the idea.

Still does't work

WEN

I'm working in TS12. It might be worth either replacing the spaces with underscores or getting rid of the spaces in both the folder name and fonts-path tags. Mine has no spaces. Another daft thought, but are you remembering to give the unit a number after you've placed it in surveyor?

Covered that already :) But I've got superscript installed on it at the moment, which maybe partially why..... although I ripped the numbers off the Class 419 which does work... the last time I checked anyway.
Where do you define the folder name? As far as I know of, Trainz automatically does it. Well, at least Trainz gives the correct value for the seating now, still not got the standing room accommodation sorted, now that WILL be interesting to see, one fully loaded Class 502 (which must take a fair few people).

Great looking 502 there WEN.

I did offer to get the alphanumbers working on your 141 previously and could see exactly where you were going wrong with it but unfortunately you weren't interested in my offer at the time, which I found quite frustrating.

The offer still stands, it's your naming convention that's wrong when you map the alphanumber planes onto the texture. This has to be exactly right or it won't work, it would take me 5 minutes to get your 141 sorted and the 502. If you are interested in this, pm me.
