After a comment that made me sit up and take notice (yes, I do listen to people's comments and take them on board) I spent a lot of yesterday revamping the tracks leaving my elevated station. Here is the result...

And with the way the third rail is arranged, you're going to get shorts, preventing train moves that way. :P

The con rail always faces away from the track, and platforms*.

*Where possible, sometimes, the con rail is directly below the platform face where excessive point work is found.
