UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Im certainly looking forward to them too, ;)
Heres some of my old attempts of filling in those gaps I mentioned, but very low quality as you can see. That's the best I can achieve though, as far as my ability stretches right now. ;)

Just a tip Victorian: Trains with catenary generally don't have 3rd Rails, and NO railroad system in the world (except the London Underground) has fourth rail. I'm not super train savvy so someone may correct me on that. In any case, Great Shots all you guys really make my day with these impressive screenshots.
Cheers,
Eric :)

Technically, the Southern had some sections with both 3rd rail and overhead - mainly due to the reason that there were a number of yards in London and some of the other built up areas in the Eastern half of the system that were primarily being operated with 3rd rail. It was for the safety of the shunting staff that a overhead power supply was provided in the yards to prevent staff from electrocuting themselves on the 3rd rail and a forerunner of the Class 92 was developed to utilise the overhead in yards.

The Class 73 Electro-Diesel has 3rd rail pickup and a Diesel generator to provide power.

Classes 71 -72 + 74 I think were the ones with 3rd rail pickup and overhead collection.

Some old TRS2004 screenshots.

At Christmas I bought TRS2012, Settle and Carlisle and 1 years subscription to the DLS. I just can't be bothered to use it.

Nice landscaping Dave.

I particularly like the distant hills. Beautifully made and textured, and nicely set off by the foreground foliage and track-side work.

It looks like you have TrainzTuner turned on as well. Great stuff.

I hear what you say about your Christmas purchases, but I still reckon the DLS is a treasure trove. It holds a vast amount of very useable early stuff - to the great credit of previous (and some still current) creators.

Every new Route creation, or extension, requires a shed load of new stuff. Even though new items can’t be downloaded to TRS2004 only registered owners, there are plenty of other items.

All good finds demand a full search of the same creator’s work IMHO. It inevitably reveals many more great items which otherwise may not have been located, or even considered. Doing word translations of required items from English into Polish, French, Spanish and a few other languages will often also find some sensational items in Title search.

Looking forward to seeing some more of your shots. Keep up the good work!

Cheers
Casper

Victorian, Really? I didn't know the mainline trains could go on tube tracks too; however, in the picture it looks like the mainline tracks and tube tracks don't intermingle.... Or is that not the point. It's still really great Trainzing, I have to say.
Eric :/
Also, Great Shots Escafeld!

Yeah they do. They have to have special things called tripcocks fitted, and must obey all tube rules. I regularly go to Harrow and Wealdstone on a Class 313 and do indeed see tube trains using the same tracks.

Yes, the Chiltern Railways services use the Metropolitan line tracks between Harrow and Amersham too.
Although the Watford DC line doesn't get used by trains from the WCML as such, it is part of the London Overground network and so gets used by class 378s

@casper can you still use the dls on trs2004 because on 2006 upward i think you have to use cmp as the downloader does not work ''for me anyways'' thats why i had to move over to 2006 it would be great if you can still use the dls as i have an old route that i put a lot of effort into but the trees only work with compatibility mode which 2012 does not have i loved 04 and wouldn't mind installing it again for that route if the dls works any help thanks plus my serial is registered

sleek

Try this little program from Tafweb. http://www.tafweb-trainz.co.uk/cdpset.html. Hope this helps.

I assume you mean a class 378, since 313s no longer run on that line (I think the last time they did was in Silverlink days.

Thanks, Trainlevel2.

Thanks, Casper. I have loads of TRS2004 and upwards, content, but I've also lost loads when transferring from one PC to another. I deleted the wrong folder and then deleted the originals. Also Vista 64 bit has been an absolute pain and cost me years of work as I am unable to find any of my maps in any of the folders. I can find them in TrainzObjects and run on them, but when I reformat the hard drive they will all be gone. Still, not to worry I can always dream up something else when I get going in TRS2012.

This is a map I started in 2004 with the aid of aerial maps and 1 inch to 1 miles paper maps and with a little help from those who knew the places I was creating. There's lots of missing content and there's a lot not quite right with the buildings, but it's good fun to run on.

Regards, Dave

Brilliant as always escafeld. And thanks to you guys that shared the information. I didn't know about the Metropolitan overlap. Very helpful.
Eric :)

Was this route available or was it for your own pleasure. Looks like a challenge to run.

Regards Dave.
