UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Hi all,
I haven't been on here in a long time. I've just started to build a new route. and I've come across a very basic problem. I've built a 'V' shaped station with 2 platform curving off in different directions. However I cannot remember how to fill the space in between the platforms to make it one solid platform? Hopefully everyone understands what I mean. Any help on this would be brilliant.

Welcome back. I have encountered this problem before as I also have a couple of stations in that configuration. What I did was to use a "building base and steps" spline and lay a couple of them at stepped-lengths essentially forming a triangle with the platform and overlapping them to cover the steps except for the last one. You could probably do this with regular platforms as well.
Another thing you could try is raise the ground to platform height (1.3m) provided you are not too close to the track so you would probably want a wide or doubled platform.
Alternatively if you are familiar with GMAX or Google Sketchup (you need the RubyTMIX Plugin to export Sketchup files to Trainz - worth a try because it is far easier that GMAX in my opinion and though it is somewhat limited in its capabilites it's great for creating simple objects quickly) you could create a custom v-shaped section, that way you'll get the exact dimensions you want with a single scenery asset.
The best choice really depends how much of the space you want to fill.
Perhaps if you post a screenshot that will give a clearer idea of what you need to do.

@youifhonk I tend to use the 'Platrorm tarmac' surface and edge splines by tmz06003, as they offer much more control over platform shapes. There are also some compatible platform edges by Nexusdj

@meyshollop thanks, glad you like it. What were you expecting if you don't mind me asking? Since I generally use modern EMUs I thought I'd add some OHLE, and Bifton station looked slightly odd with only 1 platform.

Probably my last TRS2004 screenshots. I installed TRS2012 yesterday, which I've had since Christmas and not used. I'm not fond of the replacement trees and I'm trying to wipe them out and put the ones I used back in. I've copied a lot of the tree KUIDs from one to the other, but not all the content is showing. I guess I need to delete the 'chump' files if that's the way it's still done after an upload.
These two are just a muck-about baseboard of Lincolnshire fenland.

He hasn't been seen for a while. I emailed him and got no reply, so I do hope he's OK.
Well yesterday p.m. I started playing around with TRS2012 and after I got to grips with it I wasn't sure what to start and then I got to thinking about George and had a play around at reconstructing his layout, though I built it to suit me. I'm trying to get used to texturing again. It doesn't lay down, for me, as it used to, but anyway this is the result. Somewhere in the Midlands. No steam, I can't find a UK steam loco in TRS2012.

Thanks for posting those screenshots which make a fascinating comparison. It’ll be interesting to see how the landscape looks when more trees have been planted. They could be a problem though. The foliage that you have placed at track level has the dreaded multicoloured planes.
TS12 seems to want to give billboard trees a bad name! In older versions they render properly and don’t show the light green/dark green colour contrasts where the flat planes cross.
Still, early days. Look forward to seeing more when the texturing and planting has progressed.
With regard to the lack of UK steam locos in TS12, have you tried skipper1945’s upgrades? They are reported to work OK in TS12 according to this thread, although experiences seem to be mixed.

Scania freight is looking to replace its 15 Class 86's with new locos. Currently there are 2 options being considered. First is a group of 15 Class 92's for sale from DB Schenker. These loco's are tried and tested and can enter service immediately. The second is a batch of 20 Alstom Prima 2 locos. These will be Class 94 and have the perks of latest technology, are more efficient and are certified to work in France and Germany. THis will allow Scania to operate channel tunnel trains. Come to my private test track for more.

I hope the Prima2 is running under diesel power because if that OHLE is live the Arcs to the body would make a great light show

Hi Dave.
The low level shots look very realistic with the foliage appearing much more natural.
Your last shot looks particularly good with the foreground grass and overgrown fence!
