UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Thank you for that. Unlike the youth of today, I always use common sense. This is the thread that I think I saw this item on. I do not need this sort of comment when I have a genuine question.
If you can help-Great. If not get off the case.

I don't think I was unfair in my post. I'm just trying to keep the thread 'on track' as it were. I have answered your question, but I don't like the way you wrote your last post. It sounded as if you treated me like a 4 year old. Anyway, I'm drawing a line under this. I hope my answer in your PM helped you with your question.

Can anyone help please?
A few weeks ago I was very interested to see some screenshots of a route being produced by DavidBrown called the Tarka Line. He was hoping to finish this by Christmas, but it didn't happen.
I live near & use this line & would love to be able to use it, but now I cannot find any trace of it in the forums.
I have used the advanced search to no avail. I would have thought that key words like "Tarka Line" & "DavidBrown" would have shown up something. SEARCH!!!!
Hope that someone can help.

Thank you

Eh? The Christmas being referred to was next Christmas. Which, as my son tells me, is a really long way away.......

Great shots everyone!

Common Sense would dictate that you don't post in irrelevant threads. Obviously common-sense for you is different than 'The Youth of Today' which includes myself

Andy, that shot looks phenomonal

Mark,

Those shots are terrific! Not just the beautiful sweep of the viaduct, but the houses, fields and so on. Only the rather "boxy" box hedge in the foreground of the first even hints that it is not a photo of the actual . I don't know the area, but it looks very authentic (given the fact that the first would probably have to be taken from a helicopter).

Peter.

Now, just to keep the screenshots going here's one I prepared earlier! (When is Trainz like a cookery show? When Peter does it!). I posted it for the Screenshot of the Week on "weather". The idea was that this LMS Duchess had been diverted over the S&C due to bad weather on the mainline only to find the weather up there was almost as bad. (2 DLCs used).

Apologies for duplication to those reading Screenshot of the Week.

Great screenshots all. Just one from me tonight. LBSCR A1X class Waddon awaits departure from Southbridge. Waddon is double heading with sister engine Brighton Works. I may ask Paul Hobbs if Waddon can be uploaded to the DLS. I'm also working on Gipsyhill if anyone is interested. Anyway, without further ado:

Hi Creditonian,
It was only a few weeks ago that I posted the screenshots (Page 941, at the end of February), and I'm afraid to say that when I said Christmas, I meant Christmas 2013. The reason for this is that there is still a huge amount of work to do. Since I posted those screenshots, I have almost completed the line from Barnstaple to New Bridge (where the A377 crosses the line near Bishops Tawton), and worked around Umberleigh. I'm now working on the section in between the two (around Chapelton), and hope to have this done at some point in April, although the Easter break for me involves being stuck at work for one of the busiest weekends of the year, so there's not much time for Trainz at the moment!
I have done some work on the rest of the line - mostly limited to trackside details and scenery. At least now I have some stretches that are worthy of posting screenshots of, and that's what I will continue to do as well as updates on the progress of the route.
Here's a snapshot of what's happening along the line at the moment;

Barnstaple Station. Surrounding scenery is almost complete (just a bit of work to do around Tesco's) - otherwise it's just a couple of assets like the station building and canopy that I need to build in Gmax.

The line heads south from Barnstaple, seen here alongside the A361 Barnstaple Western Bypass.

This is what a substantial chunk of the route still looks like - minimal work done with everything still to do! 100 points if you manages to identify this as Portsmouth Arms station...

...so we jump to Morchard Road, where the station area is done, but as you can see still a lot of work to do on surrounding scenery.

Copplestone station, where more work has been done.

I'm guessing, creditonian, that Crediton station might be of particular interest to you! I've done a little more in the surrounding area, but there's still plenty to do. As you can see, I've used various assets more as location markers rather than realistic copies - I need to create the station buildings, signage, footbridge, and replace the GWR benches before the fans of the Southern Railway lynch me!

Newton St Cyres - almost done.

Cowley Bridge Junction - not underwater, for once.

And finally, Exeter St Davids. As you can see, only the very basic trackwork, signalling and scenery is done here - almost everything else will have to be created in Gmax. this includes the main station building, canopies, platform buildings, station furniture, signage...you get the idea! This area will determine just when the route will be ready, so for now no promises will be made! Christmas 2013 is a target, but not a promise. I know that waiting is frustrating, but I will assure everyone that it will be worth it!

David,

> but I will assure everyone that it will be worth it

I'm sure, from a quick look at the areas already developed, we can all see that's true.

Keep the good work up!

Peter.
