UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Hi there folks, New to here but not really new to trains first playing it when it originally came out how ever many years ago. Now got back into it with Trainz 12 seems pretty good unlike my route building skills which are not so good lol. This is just a mess about to get used to building stuff again.

Welcome to the forums UKdrifttrains and your screenshots look great , You may want to consider turning of the Junction indicators before taking a screenshot . In driver mode click on the "Additional tools menu" button on the top right corner of the menubar and select "Hide junction overlays"

Great shots all

I used to hate Speedtrees too but since getting a decent pc and bigger screen I've seen them in a different light and am now very impressed. Especially close up the effect is amazing. Now I can't find a planar alpha tree that is anywhere near as good, they are pixelly and lifeless in comparison.

I think Speedtrees have got a bad press on here but you don't need to agree with me, that's just my opinion.

I have a reasonably decent PC - it gets 27202 on the Geekbench benchmark - but I think even if I had a Cray mainframe computer I would never like Speedtrees. I know the UK is famous for it's bad weather but I never see trees here swaying around like drunken sailors. Its a shame because if it hadn't been for the Speedtrees I might have shelled out for TS12. Instead I will buy a few pints of Stella then everything will sway

Whilst we are sleeping.

These shots were inspired by an article in RAIL recently about Norwich Crown Point Depot at night.

The clock's read 01:30 so let's get down to business at the newly built Polgreen TMD

Aww, aren't they cute? 390016 Virgin Prince (a 9 car unit) snuggles up beside 390124 (11 Car) Virgin Venturer,43016 on the NR NMT and ex-GNER 91101.

I have to ask where did you get those EMU's from Nathan, I can't seem to find them on the DLS?
Trainz Pro Routes download depot. Those were intended for older versions of Trainz, so you'll have to replace the AJS Superscript with the current version. The TS2010 Native-compatible EMU's have been uploaded to the DLS, but the upload bot is broken, so it might be while before the appear.

I haven't really touched Trainz for a year or so because I decided to upgrade my PC to run Trainz (and other stuff) more effectively and I gradually became more interested in the computer than Trainz! That said, does TS12 still have those awful Speed Trees that were in TS10? I bought TS10 but it vandalised my routes so badly with those things that I don't even have it installed on my PC.

You can do a lot with good quality speedtrees:

They've had a bad press, probably because N3V's early efforts weren't terribly good and, yes, you do need a good quality PC. However, when properly implemented they're just miles better than the old billboard trees - not just for screenshots, but in game as well. 3D foliage is the way to go, we just need to get it better implemented and distributed.

Personally, I know that what I see on my screen is not real and I don't need trees rocking back and forward to convince me that is real. When I opened my route in TS10 and saw those swaying Triffids I was gobsmacked - in fact it may have been one of the things which led to me abandoning Trainz.

Anyone else having trouble with nathanmallard's screenshots? They won't seem to load for me - even his banner corrupts! Eveyrone else's images are fine.

Hey, what's the route? I'm asking because I would like to use it too.

There's a co-incidence, when I look out my front window I see trees rocking back and forth in the wind...just like the real thing eh? ;)
