@ hunter_tazo

Its a route i'm building of the ECML from Croft through to Durham and with the Bishop Auckland branch.
Then I'm going to add the Bishop Auckland to Durham line eventually.

FWIW I've already got the section from Simpasture Junction through to Rough Lea (just short of Willington) and Bishop Auckland-Byers Green underway in TC3 (a port to TS2010 will follow in due course).

Here's a selection of shots to give you a flavour:

Although there's still a great deal to do (particularly detail in Bishop Auckland itself) the area north of Bishop (including the Spennymoor line as far as Burnhouse Junction) is pretty much complete.

At the moment I'm working on Simpasture and Shildon; once they're done the plan is to move on to West Auckland and then Etherley.

...and more from the Bishop Auckland area. :)

Having managed to work out a more accurate track plan for Simpasture Junction I've now revisited it and updated the signalling to be a little more prototypical. Although I've still some track alignment and landscaping to do, this section is now starting to look representative.

Here's the view looking north towards Simpasture Junction Box:

The junction proper. The leftmost lines form the Simpasture (Shildon-Newport) Branch, while the two rightmost lines are the (still in use) Bishop Auckland-Darlington line:

Hey, i'm just wonderin if anyone would like to assist me in the creating of an APT. It will be free to download. I'm just asking, as i'm still quite new to the world of 3D designing. If your interested, either get back to me on here, or e-mail me, or add me on Windows Live Messenger/MSN: grandmaster53@hotmail.com Thanks, Tom.:)

@ durhamlass

And i was already aware of your amazing route. as I'm one of the followers of your blog. No sleep till Spennymoore.:)

@Paul502-Thanks for you comment, very heplful indeed!

Anyone jetting off this summer? Then why not come to a very much un-finished and fictional London City Airport. Sorry for lack of textures!

Also, does anyone know where I might be able to get some good 'airport stuff'?

This is kind of a remake of my old post on London City airport. The entire thing is done, apart from one or two blank spaces of no texturing. Please note that it is a FICTIONAL represntation of London City, so it is different from the real thing.

How many versions do we have of this area now?

I know of 3!

My first Major route

Just finished the track laying in my first major trainz route, so far i believe to have a maximum possible distance travelled at around 60/70 miles. I have also just finished a reskin of akw's Turbostars, available from railwaves, in the southern livery. i will be posting pictures of this reskin on my new route shortly.

german sigs

The route looks good Tankbob but can I just ask why you are using German signals?

hiya lewis

The german sigs were handy at the time they will be changed out for uk sigs at a later date by the way do you recorgnise the last shot with the scrapyard.

cheers bob

Yes it is St Peters with Shepherd's scrapyard in the background.
Here's a shot I took in 1977 of a disused signal there- Br told me I could buy it for 30 quid.

Hi Michael,

Ah, that makes sense now! No worries. :)

Care to consider a route merge and/or custom asset share* at some time in the future? It would seem to make sense to do that rather than duplicate effort.

* assuming I actually get around to building custom assets for the route, of course!
