UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Lovely shots!

Just a quick question - Does anyone know of a nice medium sized route to run mainline and small trains on which doesn't need a million and one assets? (I realise the ones with more assets look nicer but I have lots of those, just want a route I can download and play on fast :P)

Thanks,

Trains08, try pauldrose's Cambridge-Huntingdon route. I use it all the time for fast, highspeed services and slower ones too. You could also take a look at his exccelent London Euston-Watford Junction route.

Back to Waterly today, where the platforms have been extended to equip 4 car trains (this has been done for all the stations). Here are some night time shots...

The 22:43 train to Dronham arrives onto an empty platform

While in the station, a Class 47 with an empty coal train thunders through

Indeed. Barn700, did you do any research into the class 158 before you started work on it? Lets see, the bogies are totally wrong (unless its a chinese copy of a class 158), there are no couplers, no underframe equiptment, the front textures are mismatched and it appears to have a chin spoiler. Also, how are the passengers going to get on the train without an outside door button set?

I am sorry Barn I can't say how what expletives I said at how wrong that model looked for a 158. Both myself and my GF travel on 158's VERY regulary and even she said WTBH?

This looks more like a 158 than yours does:

The reason for that is? It is a 158!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 158's do vary a fair amount, didn't realise one could be so different in appearance to another, this 158 is totally different to the one posted by Louise T.

I have to ask did your humour circuit short circuit?

BTW what I showed is the Thailand 158 built as an ADDON order to the UK 158's but built to Meter gauge. The bodyshell, engine and paint job is exactly as Derby outshoped em.

No I didn't have a "humour circuit short circuit", I was being genuine, I don't have a lot of time for what we used to call "Railbuses" or "Bog Carts", to me they are just metal tubes with a bus engine slung under them, they're all "much of a muchness", I much prefer "proper" loco's.

Interestingly, the units still retain the Regional Railway Express colour scheme they arrived in, but Thai State Railways intend to refurbish them next year and are painting them into a new house livery.

A Plymouth to Penzance service formed with FGW and hired ATW Class 150s at St Erth

Looking towards the harbour, the Ferry in the background is the Scillonian III, which runs services from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly, west of Lands End.

The same train seen again at St Erth, this time on the return trip to Plymouth.
