I am shocked to see that LMS_MAN has departed from Trainz. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all the fantastic content he has produced and wish him well for the future.

Regards, Dave

I'm doing this layout in Vista 64-bit. The strange thing is that I cannot find the this file in Explorer. Previous layouts, which I pasted into 'Maps' are still there, but it is impossible to save any work done on these layouts under the same file name. Apparently this can be a problem with Vista. Read-only files remain read-only files no matter how many times you try and alter the attributes. Same them under a new file name and they don't exist :(

Dave, I've just come across this problem in TC3 when trying to save a route I was working on. Unchecked read-only on my Auran folder so will have to see if that makes a difference for me. Running Win7 64bit here. I do know that Trainz can have a problem also saving when it comes to over write a kuid that is already used for a session. That usually creates a spurious error of no driver present when trying to launch into driver mode. I get around that by cranking up my map kuid number found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TC\Settings\kuid.txt I find that is starts at 100 or something and it soon catches up with my own personal kuid range that I use for content creation.

I'm not impressed with TRS2004 in Vista, Rob. I'm wondering whether to bother with it anymore and get TRS2009, or even wait for TRS2010. I'm having problems with IE8 as well. The help site admitted that it wasn't fully compatable with Vista and I should revert to IE7.
I've Googled both subjects of read-only files and IE7 and I'm not the only one having trouble.

Hiya Louise. I have Firefox, but it doesn't show thumbnails in Geograph.org.uk. At least, not for me. Thanks for the thought. See my link below.

That site's right. IE8 is terrible and I don't have it on any of my machines - it was driving my other half nuts with how slow it was under Vista Home Premium on her laptop...
