Building the Wisbech line
This might be of useful research for anyone on these forums wishing to discover the operational and disused railway network across the UK.

The PDF file, when clicking on the PDF link in this railway atlas website, is quite large and will take a while to fully download.

Interesting disclaimer. I read it as 'I don't know anything about railway history so the map could well be completely wrong.' Doesn't fill me with confidence.

Seems pretty spot on to me. The only thing I can see that is wrong is Hereford Barr's Court should be Hereford Barrs Court (which I've emailed Richard about) but everything else looks great :)

Seems pretty good to me, definitely useful as a starting point for further research. Thanks for a good find!

Wellington to Donnington branch (Shropshire) is shown closed , It was reopened 2009 to the Telford International Railfreight Park !

EDIT : Kingsbury to Birch coppice is missing as well ?

The person who compiled that PDF map did state that some areas would be inaccurate but will be amended at some time. Most of the East Anglian network is pretty much spot on as this is the area that I have knowledge of through various railway books I've read at the library or at model railway exhibitions.

The map is useful as a starting point into carrying out research into railways historical and present and as a stepping stone into sourcing more information and photos about a particular railway of interest from the internet in general.

Looks pretty useful despite a couple of errors.

WHR is shown as closed................. Surprised you didn't spot that Ed
