UK 25Kv overhead power - TANE 84204

Hi Guys - I want to create a UK 1960s Route that has significant Midland Region overhead electric workings, but a brief search around DLS produced a dizzy array of o/head power supply hardware assets. Just to clarify, I am only currently interested in the assets that provide the 25KV power supply (not the locomotives). Would anybody care to suggest a particular creator's assets for this project? Also, being only a casual visitor to that Region in the 60's, I am not that familiar with the "set up" (although I do know the Eastern Region's overhead set up at Colchester a little better). I obviously need a variety of gantries/catenaries to carry the power wires. I obviously need the overhead wires. What else do I need as it cannot be that simple!!!! Many thx in advance:)

NexusDJ – search 'UK 25kv' and you have perhaps every single type OLE or catenary variation you can think of.

Out of curiosity, are you doing the WCML, from Euston? Or farther up north Birmingham or Manchester?

One thing you canmot forget when working with any catenary is patience and temper. The exact lining-up of wire combined with Trainz's imprecise scenery placement makes for a stressful build.

Good luck!

Hi Ron. Many thanks... I think! Re the Route? Neither. I am going to overhaul my Rivendell route (on DLS 2008 for TRS 2004), and want to run 25KV locos on at least part of it. Regards. Colin.

I think the safest advice for a 1960's route would be to stick to the MkI OHLE stuff - and the green (copper) wire rather than the black stuff that generally goes with the MkIII stuff. Nexusdj provides you with everything you might need on that score.

Hope that's a help.

Cheers
