ugly trains

I myself never thought an ugly train existed even industrial locos have massive amounts of character that was until I came across this pneumatic loco used in gunpowder factories

:n::n:

Thats the second one on the page. It looks like it'll tip over towards the cab. I was wondering if anyone could make the first loco as I wouldn't mind to do a gunpowder factory layout. I'm trying to learn Gmax but each time I think I'm getting somewhere up the ladder the ladder seems to get extended and I'm quite impatient when it comes to these things even with tutorials (they all seem to be for gmax 1.1 not 1.2 which I downloaded unless I'm missing quite a lot they seem to work slightly differently :confused:)
so if someone could do one it'll be much appreciated or if someone could point me in the direction of some very good gmax 1.2 tutorials that too would be fantastic. Thanx

Andy :)

Did I mention something about engines so ugly they're irresistable?
I think the second fireless engine, the pneumatic one, qualifies. I'll have to improve my G-max myself, if I want one of those.
Thanks for the cool site.:D

looks like a cesna gone wrong and put on rails
Nah, more like a 1958 Desoto.

Canadian Pacific made some sd40-2b's by welding metal plates over the windows. The locos were ex-Norfolk Southern sd40-2's that the CP acquired.

Why argue about someone's preference? People are entitled to like or dislike what they like. People will especially dislike something they are told to like as well...

No need to argue. If you like 'em, great. No one can take that away from you. If someone says something you disagreee with about taste, who cares? It's just their opinion. Let's leave it at that. =)

Now to get back on topic:

I find this armoured train car ugly for two reasons...one for aesthetic reasons and the other for its purpose.

Careful there, you're straying into dangeous territory there; some might take offense at that. :o

Infidel!!! Just joking. BTW, I love what hi-hoods look like. What is the point of converting it into a B unit that way. Wouldn't it just be easier to keep it as a cabbed unit?

It's a modified SD40-2. (note the long porch on the front) Also the top left pic when you open it at the bottom it says that it's a SD40-2 with a Cat prime mover. That radiator assembly looks like the ones off the SD90. The SD70Ace has only 2 fans and is shorter. Both the SD90 and SD70Ace have the dynamic brake fan behind the radiators but there is no flare on the long hood in that location.
