ugly trains

There's no point in arguing with subway haters is there...

Why argue about someone's preference? People are entitled to like or dislike what they like. People will especially dislike something they are told to like as well...

No need to argue. If you like 'em, great. No one can take that away from you. If someone says something you disagreee with about taste, who cares? It's just their opinion. Let's leave it at that. =)

Now to get back on topic:

I find this armoured train car ugly for two reasons...one for aesthetic reasons and the other for its purpose.

Gisa ^^

Oh crap. The enemy armored their trains. We can't destroy them with normal means... Lets see if they armored their rails.

I agree with you. That train car is ugly and useless.

The armor is for self defense against attacks. Debate on the moral merits of self defense versus letting people kill you is probably outside the scope of this forum, but I think it's kind of cute.
In a panzer sort of way.

Wow gisa, that definitaley looks uglier than a subway. :hehe: I wonder when it was created? Was it during the times of the knights? If so...uh-oh...say bye-bye to the world. :p

Also gisa, thanks for the suggestion about the issue between subways and other trains. I may have gone a *bit* too far with that comment, but I was furious at the time I wrote it. We all have different tastes, but that surely isn't a reason why they should try to stop fans from liking them aswell? Like it, fantastic. Don't like it? Then don't like it.Here's an idea: if you don't have something nice to say about something, than don't say anything at all. I thought the same could go for subways.

the second one is ugly, keep it on the 185 please, it looks like a kindergardener that tried to draw string on the sides. the color is ugly too.

It wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't butchered the yellow on the front, it looks much better when kept within the shape of the front of the train, like every other TOC that i know of uses on their 170s.

I wonder when it was created?

it was created in wwII for the german narrow gauge railways. the armored trains "protected" troops heading to war or frieght headed to the troops from being bombed by allied forces (i.e. england france united states etc.)

No problem freightcar2. I agree with you 100% - usually it's best not to say anything at all if there is nothing worth saying. ;) I guess trainzers here like to hear about lots of things and hearing about the same thing all at once can be too much for some. I personally like hearing about lots of different things but that's just me.

AFAIR, I found that when I typed in "Ugly Trains" in google images. Apparently that car was in Yugoslavia. I thought that maybe there might be a small gun or cannon on the inside, but if it is carrying troops I suppose I shouldn't be so hard on it.
