Ugly radiator Not SEXY

JEAN :hehe:
I agree, the locomotive is perfectly fine and shmexy until they go off throwing on radiator sections that look like fricken baxes were just taped on to the radiator section.

I agree, but you do have to admit they have that "only a mother could love that look" thing going on. Especially some of the streamlined ones; don't get me wrong, I think the skyline casing fitted ones are pretty neat & unusual, but...it's just that I don't really think skylines look good on industrial engines. it just seems so out of place.

"Your regularly scheduled ugly train post has been cancelled. Please proceed outside the station where you may proceed to your destination via our replacement ugly bus service..."

Please excuse me a quick deviation into my second love :p

Only in the UK can things not appear as they seem to be...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've seen this pic before and I believe that it was a promotional shot for the Luton and Dunstaple busway taken before the actual (concrete) busway was constructed on top of the disused rail line. And while that one's seen better days, I certainly wouldn't call a Wrightbus Eclipse an ugly thing.

The route now looks like this (complete with facelifted version of the same bus body type). Please note this isn't the finished thing; I regularly use the Cambridge guided busway and it's actually rather pretty now that the grass has grown up between the 'rails'.

While I'm here, this (a product of the same company - note the 'cat's whiskers' below the windscreen) is an ugly little thing:

I honestly think this locomotive isn't all that ugly. Cascaderailroad insisted that I put this on here.

BTW, this loco is the first Franco-Crosti preheater locomotive that was built and tested in Belgium.

There were also two other locomotives like this that were a result of the first Franco-Crosti being halved:

This link will lead to a website that has more details. You might also find some other interesting stuff on there. Enjoy!

You learn something new everyday. Not knowing anything about US engines, until I saw that photo posted by deadpoolmx55, I had always thought cascaderailroad's sig block was a flight of fantasy :)

LU S8 Stock, I like the interior, but the front end is just hideous, been around for a couple of years now and I still haven't got used to them.

I'm surprised that no one has put any trams up yet, this tram in Munich is pretty hideous.
