i know most dont know what this is but, for those of you that enjoy linux as much as i do, i was able to get ts12 to run , but really buggy in ubuntu beta 2, using wine hq, just a heads up that ubuntu 11.04 has been released and i am working on getting trainz working on it, i actually have been for awhile.

I've used Linux and Ubuntu in the past; only reason I still use XP is to run Trainz. Delighted you're working on Ubuntu 11.04 for Trainz. Look forward to hearing more about your efforts. Will try it myself when I get TS12. :)

if i could get ts12 to run flawless on ubuntu , i would ditch windows all together:o

Also anyone using ati cards, the new drivers are out today as well, always best to keep em up to date

Does the recent court case that has Google paying $5,000,000 to a patent troll for a UNIX code infringement have an impact on this version of UNIX?

Thanks John

lol

And what does this have to do with TS12?
Kenny

this has plenty to do with trainz if ubuntu can become able to run trainz flawless, i am sure i am not the only person out there that prefers linux or mac over windows, the only reason i have windows is do to trainz functionality:o

thank you linux supports

No, it was a Java problem, using Oracles Java source code in their Android OS,
Most Linux distributions and Unix derived OS's, use the Java from Oracle who recently acquired Sun Microsystems, with their blessing, no open source involved, as they supply the finished product either as ready to go as they do for Windows or a compilable version which Google probably hacked, I suspect if Google had asked, they could have used it anyway.

I've had 2009 working in PCLinuxOS less content manager and in Mandriva 64 bit with a very flakey Content Manager both using Wine.

I was referring to the Bedrock Technologies case a little more far reaching.

Trainz in Linux

Like you guys I am only holding onto Microsoft so I can run TRAINZ. I am still running TRAINZ2004, as I see no reason to upgrade UNTIL I can run in Linux
