.TZARC files, can I move them?

The .tzarc files are taking up a lot of space on my PC, can I move them to an external hard drive for later use, or do they have to stay on the PC?

Actually, if you are looking to move your build folder, go to your Trainz Settings button on your launcher, then the install tab, then click the button that says "Instructions for moving your content". You have to move the whole build folder though, not just pieces parts, and then the new location becomes the active data folder.

If you are going to move the build-folder, I recommend renaming the folder to something more recognizable. I give my data folders names like TRS19_Data, Plus_Data, etc.

The reason is the name sticks out in such a way, I know what it is and I won't pull an idiot move and delete the folder.

Everything you download from the DLS or from third-party websites using CDPs will be installed in the "local and original" folders, in ".tzarc" format files.
If you delete those files it will destroy the functioning of the game.
To delete content you can do so through the content organizer.

So basically, I can delete all my .tzarc files, and NOT damage/reset Trainz?
From the cache/internet folder only and nowhere else.

To increase space, you can also empty the backups folder and reduce the number of backups created from 7 backup-days to 1 or 2. These are seven-day's worth of backups and not consecutive days with the system automatically removing the oldest date first. The backups are created every time you update, clone, or modify an asset. That's part of the reason why it takes a bit of time to open up a route. A backup is being created just in case you stuff something badly.

Wow! Thanks for a good way to free up space!
