Two versions of Trainz and downloading new contents

Hi there guys,

I own two versions of Trainz: 2009 SP4 and 2010. As I've read somewhere the fact that 2009 is SP4 means that you can use 2010's assets in 2009. Is that true?

If yes, what do I have to do for downloading new contents and use it in both versions of Trainz? Can I use the download helper? Which one - 2009 or 2010?

I tried to search within the forums but maybe as English is not my native language I missed something. Apologies for that :)

Thanks

TRS2009 SP4 and TRS 2010 are virtually one and the same. Direct your downloads to one or the other (choose one) and then use import CDP to bring an asset into the second one. Personally, since the two versions are identical, I would delete TRS 2009 and keep TRS 2010. There is no advantage to having both.

Thanks Tom for your quick response. However, a newbee question: where are the CDP's to be imported located? In this case, if I want to import 2010 content into 2009, where do I have to look for the assets?

Save to cdp in 2010, highlight in CM right click, save to cdp and import cdp in 2009, CM, Menu, import cdp, browse to where you saved it or them, as said though pretty pointless as 2010 has all 2009 content anyway.

The problem is that apparently my laptop's specs are closer to 2009 than 2010....so thats why my interest in bringing 2010 asssets into 2009.

It is possible to import 2010 content from DLS into 2009 SP4?

Thanks Malc. I am going to try and see what happens :). If not, I think I will stay with 2010...even if not at optimum performance
