turntable derail

I have a turntable which moves the ship to the dock. The ship moves on to it, but when it move off it derails. It can go on but not off?????? I am really confused with this TRS22 Platinum and the weird thing it is doing.

What ship are you using? Some ships are a tight fit.
<kuid2:58223:28899:1> I-Drivable Cruise Ship Freedom of the Seas and <kuid2:60238:60067:1> Transfer Table Ships Lateral 2. It used to work OK till just recently and I cannot find out why, LOL. Mabe I should replace it on the route and see it that helps.

It's the same old Turntable Issue I've been experiencing for a while now. Happens to Canal Locks as well.
I've been trying to get vulcan's Small Canal Lock assets (2 and 3) to work for a while now. The barge gets into the lock, gets raised and gates opena and closea correctly, but when trying to exit from the final stage the barge gets "no route to selected destination". If you force it to exit with DCC commands it derails. This seems to be very similar to a thread from 2021 I found:
but it seemed to be resolved there, and indeed when I was working on the Dearnby route (early 2023) the barges and locks worked (at least most of the time). But I just tried both the Middleton session and the Dearnby session and got the abovee message when the barge tried to leave a lock.

I've tried this on 119450 and 126380. I've reloaded the lock assets several times, and used the "normal" double invisible signal just inside the gate technique, and even visible signals; but it seems the barge never sees the track beyond the final point.

Does anyone else have these Small Canal Locks working now? Any new tricks I can try?

Thanks for any help.

Peter

I am about to setup this om my new route, where a boat changes levels. Will play around and see what happens. Also with <kuid2:58223:28899:1> I-Drivable Cruise Ship Freedom of the Seas and <kuid2:60238:60067:1> Transfer Table Ships Lateral 2

There are no newer versions of Small Canal Lock 2 and 3 than the ones I used (60238:60016:2 and 60238:60017:1) . I can't see any newer assets with Canal in their name by vulcan since 2018.

Those assets may not have been updated but I believe the track has. Don't forget dependencies can be updated separately from the parent asset.

Afraid not, it's the blue track that's being used, and it's the latest on build 126280 (60238:37037:3). Upload date is June 2018.

I checked the asset's dependencies, and it is this version.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Guys, the issue has been that when a canal lock lifts the track to the higher level, the out going attached track at that level detaches from the model and causes the derailment. This can be seen if you replace the invisible track with a visible one, it falls to the ground when the rising table connects. In some lateral rail (tram) transfer tables I have had the connections work then I return to the same attached out track and it then derails, random failure.

I have been working on some new ore carrier ships and the Deluth ore loading facility recently, these are ready for final checking then upload. I updated the Soo lock model and it is working in TRS22, I might upload it later today, if you want to try that one. Perhaps I should then look at some of the older lock and canal models and see if there is a fix for them.

Hi Ian,

It's very good news that you are still involved with these assets and might be able to take a look at the Small Canal Lock ones. I will certainly try the Soo lock when you upload it, but would really like the "older" ones to work if at all possible. The ship looks fantastic but unfortunately there weren't too many of them around in Birmingham for my route...

BTW, I think the detaching also happens sometimes when going down, though I haven't tested that properly.
