TURNOUT WONT CHANGE DIRECTION !?

Have clocked up a few hours attempting to correct this anomaly.
The setup is basic enough. 'A right hand point on a mainline'.
Locos pass through the point double back into the siding - pickup cars,
run back out onto the mainline - then reverse back with cars to couple to main consist. Nothing too complicated . But not for love nor money can I
get the turnout to switch back to its original mainline setting, and of course the returning loco with the pickups just runs back into the siding.

Junction settings have thus far proved futile - tried a section of invis track
so there was the center track option for the settings lock - and have tried
the lock settings in there respective positions - Have changed both track
and point motors, levers, and there appears to be no noticeable anomalies
present up or down the particular piece of track .

All other turnouts in the area function in either direction
So LOL completely stumped.
Any useful advise welcomed.

I do know that, in TRS2004, a junction will lock when ever a train is close to it. ;) Your train might be within the lock radius of the junction. ;) This behavior did not exist in UTC and earlier, if I remember correctly. ;)

Try modifying the track layout to allow the train to have some extra room, so that it can be futher away from the junction when you have to flip it. ;)

Regards.

A few thoughts:

Are the red/green arrows showing over the turnout when you stroke the cursor over it?

Are there just two? Any more will indicate another (possibly buried) piece of track causing a problem. Look at the points in Surveyor ‘wireframe’ to see if anything is going on underneath.

Is your rolling stock far enough away from the lever to allow you to change it?

Is the lever correctly placed? It can sometimes be too far away, or the wrong side of the turnout.

If the problem persists, it might help if you could post a screenshot of the problem area.

Cheers

what driver commands are you using? also what is the trigger radius set for on the junction? Are you trying to actually couple to the correct vehicle? Can you manually take control of the train and couple?

Update on junction troubles;

Isolated problem area to either command, or rolling stock or both.
Turnout is switching back to right hand setting when last command
is activated. Which was to couple to first car on the mainline consist.

Found that moving the mainline cars back along the track and placing
a trackmark 2 engines lengths in front of the couple to car did the trick.

But in that instance I used flatcars for the pickup vehicles. When I reinstated atsf loaded log wagons as the desired pickup cars - same old same old!!

Did away with the junction setting lock as was of no use . Havn't used any
triggers, only Track marks. Log cars are what I need to use for this session,
so must persevere with them.
So flat cars dont affect the point setting - log cars throw it back to the
right.- One drive to Track mark, before the couple to command.
Do I need more trackmarks, triggers, ??? any old clues will do.

In case theres anyone interested, the problem turnout was corrected
by placing a TM and a wait command between the command to couple to
(ie main consist) and the errant point. Also there seemed to be a limit of
'4' log cars that the proceedure would allow.
Thanks for advise and comments re this problem.
