Tunnel Splines With Built In Catenary

I have searched the DLS high and low but, other than the resources made for the Milwaukee Road in TS2010, unable to find a decent tunnel spline (single or double track) which has a built in catenary attached to the roof. I know some of the original Auran tunnels had them but I'm looking for a structure which can be placed at any angle. Ideally with a decent up to date track bed too, not old TS2006 2D track.

Can anyone recommend something - on the DLS - which would greatly assist with some projects I have in mind.

I was on this subject several weeks ago. The short answer is; there no such asset for TS10 and TS12. There is, however a tunnel catenary spline on the DLS.

I've built above-ground (scenery) catenary splines in TS2009... but the 2009+ track spline specification is so helically fastened in the direction of increasing altitude that I shudder every time I look at it. Apparently this is the case to such an extent that even professional developers won't go near such things in TS10+. Can't blame them. (A bit of history: pantographs were once in the same category, considered too difficult to attempt - until some decent tutorials with examples came out.)

At the moment I'm playing with "fixed track," which could conceivably be constructed with catenary, third rail, side walls, roof, floor and other appurtenances (dig hole?) while using someone else's laboriously created track for the actual rails and sleepers... evading the spiral-threaded monster mentioned above.

For a shallow tunnel or one where the track is level, you can work with normal catenary systems by fiddling with spline heights, the trouble starts when you want to do something where the tunnels are well below ground and on a rising gradient (e.g. Swiss or Austrian Alps, Japanese high speed lines). The only way round it is to flatten the terrain to install the catenary but unlike MSTS (where you used the ¬ key to undo the last terrain alteration) or RW where you can re-import direct a single square of DEM, there's no way to redo the terrain as it was. Then of course both MSTS and RW apply catenary automatically above the track, in the case of the former if you have selected electrified track and in the latter if you use an appropriate track rule and select overhead electrification as you lay track.

Maybe something else N3V need to get their programmer looking at for the next PC version?!
