TS2010 Sessions

Hi guys,
Some advice please.
I can't complete any of the 4 sessions in the route Downtown Traction Company.
Some of the industries are not configured for product from the start and some of the vehicles are empty despite the tasks stipulating that they must be placed for unloading.

Hi, i,m slightly confused as you called your post 2010 sessions and you only have 2006 registered. I havn,t tried it yet but I,ll have a look at it later. My first idea is... Go into surveyor, session and configure the industries and load the wagons you need. If you are unsure as to how to do it, post here.

Thanks for the reply .
I have registered both 2006 & 2010 but I am new to the forum.
I cannot seem to save or work in surveyor without a red dot with error messages appearing on the screen . When saving at any stage I get error messages .Should the sessions not be configured from the start ?

That's more like a scenario where everything happens in a definite order.
You would find that phil (the author) has probably only prepared the consist that relates to the instructions for the sessions. There is probably some consists coming thru from portals that you have to work around.
Yousee, with trains, The greatest thing about the seesion you are playing is your mind. Trainz (and phil) require you to work out everything in loads, timetables, arrivals, departures ETC ETC . This you have to learn to discover the true value of this sim.

ok, we can start to narrow down the cause of your problem. It is definately not your session that is at fault. Now to eliminate one or two things. Do you have XP, Vista or W7? XP is ok but with Vista and probably W7you need to install 2010 and run it in Admimistrator . Next have you installed all the patches as far as 44088? Are you playing in native mode? Your session is built in so I,m thinking you should be in native mode. Is 2010 a download or a disc and where did you steal:) I mean purchase it?

Cool it :) my version of 2010 is ligit, I don't know why you can't pick up the reg.I purchased it thru the net and I have a reg number.
I am using XP.
I see what you say : Phil has worked out the sessions in a sequence that has to be followed otherwise things won't laod ? When I start the session and go to the industries or rol stock they are not configured. One has to read the instructions carefully to understand them - they are tricky.

Hello JJan I think you may have missed the point I was making so I,ll put it another way. From what you said in your 2nd post and what I looked at in the game I think the problem is with the installation of the game not anything you have done wrong in the game or the Downtown Traction Company Route. That was the reason for my questions in my last post. Nothing to do with whether or not you have registered 2010 or whether it is legit. Now you need to go to Routes, select Downtown Traction Company and select sessions. The top one is called "Coal" or something very similar. (I,m at work). When you start it you have an electric locomotive to drive and a list of instuctions. First you have to go to the Port and pick up 2 empty coal wagons. Take them to MIN 3, load them with coal and take the coal to 3 destinations which so you need to load them 3 times. First question. In the session when you use the control key and either left or right (I,m not 100% sure which) click and the MIN window will open and if if is working correctly there will be a short green line and the amount of coal it has. If it does not the session is not working. Another task you have to attach 3 flat wagons with Road Trailers on. Look for them in the Yard and if the wagons are empty, again the session is broken. If it is it is most likely an installation problem. Now I must close. I,m a little busy.

oK jjan Now to register 2010. Go to the top of this page, click on "serial number" and enter your registation code. (groups of 4 characters" )e careful with 0 o and 5 s and 1 I One other thing for now. Do you have 2006 installed on your computer with 2010. Or even Did you have it on your computer and uninstalled it? This may be the problem with sessions.

Hi again and thanks for your time.
I have 2006 still installed.I have completed other sessions succesfully on 2010 like Avery.
I will try to register again.
About the coalling session : I am going to give it another go and see exactly what goes wrong and try and be more specific.I seem to get near the end in all the sessions of Downtown, and when I get to say the last industry, nothing happens when I place the wagons, when I check the industry, it is not configured.I will ask again if you do not mind and thanks.

Hi Baz.I have read and understood what you said here, and I have seen that one must think first about the sessions.I have tackled the coal1 session in the Downtown route again and did everything as required, but after the completion of the last movement nothing happens to say that the session has been completed, neither does it show under 'achievements'. I have completed all the Avery sessions without problems. One more thing : I cannot save whilst in any Downtown session and come back to the same game, it gives me a red light and a time out error on the screen .Any ideas please ?

Hi Jan --

I've only just discovered this thread.

I'm the author of the "Downtown" route and sessions.

" ... but after the completion of the last movement nothing happens to say that the session has been completed, neither does it show under 'achievements'. "

Well, now, while we do expect a lot from our crews in terms of dedication and enthusiasm, we only hire staff who work for the internal satisfaction of knowing that they have done a good job. We give them their instructions and expect them to just get out there and do it to the best of their ability.

Once in a while for some notable achievement or devotion to duty (we had an engineer come out a while back to cover a shift on a dark and stormy night- left his own wedding reception to do so) we might give a pat on the back.

Those who always expect a "well done" we generally suggest they ship out to another railroad.
__________

Seriously, anything like "sign off" or "contact me for further instructions" is used to indicate that you have finished the session. Generally unless it is specified to the contrary you can do what is required in any order and when you have done what was required you are finished.
__________

" ... a red light ... ."

Don't know what this indicated - are you missing a dependency like a product?

Hi Phil, It's cool to talk to you ! For me it is not about a pat on the back, it is hard enjoyable work to work out the sessions and complete them, and a person would like to know whether it was done succesfully, which does reflect on the 'achievements'. The problem is nothing reflects in the achievements after I have completed it, so I presume I have done something wrong.By 'red light' i mean that every time I try to save whilst in one of the sessions of Downtown and I resume a red light appears and when I click on it it opens a message window with error messages like 'time out' and error on line 100 or similar.I have seen that for instance where I have to pick up a steel girder in the one session, there is no product configured in the relevant industry then I presume I have done something wrong in my movements.

Hi Jan --

"I have seen that for instance where I have to pick up a steel girder in the one session, there is no product configured in the relevant industry ... ."

If that's the case it probably means that you are missing the particular product.

Check in the main pane of Content Manager to see if any asset has a "?" against it. If it does, it means that it is missing a dependency. Drag and drop the asset with the ? into the Download Helper pane, top left, and let it grab anything that is missing.

Also go to the Download Station to see if there is any text about additional downloads under the thumbnail for the session. For example, one session says:

TRS2004, 06 and 09 users should make sure these two products are downloaded from the Download Station:
Tractor Farmall, kuid 68213:60008
Trailer Fruehauf 01, kuid 68213:60009

and also download this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/266431725/DTC_TemII_V41_Locos_Euro_Electric_Modified.zip

TRS2004 users should also download:

Hope this helps.
