TS2010 & Fog

dricketts

Trainz Luvr since 2004
If I remember correctly TS2004 had a good weather fog setting that could be adjusted by distance. Does TS2010 have this? All I can find is the setting for clear or rainy. This does add a bit of fog but not near as much control as the good weather fog setting.

I'm fairly senile Derrick, but I don't remember the "Distance" part. Maybe Robin or Mezzo could confirm this...

It's in the Video options.

I don’t have TS2010 so I wouldn’t know where to find it in that version.

However, in TRS2004 it is variable in intensity in the top toolbar Surveyor menu>Performance settings.
Good weather fog is seventh down the list (in the Effects section). It’s a seven position slider which controls the fog intensity. It’s not tagged as “distance”, but the further to the right the slider is positioned the murkier the front to back view of the scenery becomes.

Works well in 2010 and TS12, I use it in pretty much the same way as you do in your scenery thread.

I would like to see more fog being added, like in the old days of steam in the early mornings, that would give Trainz a spooky feel, when a steam express train just appears from out of the fog and rushes past, and back into the fog again.

Right I'm scared now, I'm off

This has been requested via the Suggestion Boxcar section, probably more than once. Here’s a link to one that I recall.

Your right Casper, I am even in there with my support for more fog, I did notice in the screenshots folder you had fog down to a tee, that is what I would like to see added in trainz, plus your excellent routes make the fog look even better.
