The next thing to check is that you are actually using the correct patch and that your version of XP is running SP3.
Also, as with Vista/7, make sure you are running the patch from an admin account, not a limited account (if you are using a limited account, you may be able to counteract the problems by using the Run as... option when you right-click the file.
Unfortunately, clicking Cancel carries the risk of having to re-install TS2009. I would advise if you do have to re-install TS2009, is to install the patches before importing custom content from earlier versions - do a database repair between each one.

EDIT: For some reason, your TS2009 does not appear on your profile information above each message you post - is it fully registered with N3V Games/Auran?
