TS12 - Can't input old Serial Keys

I'm trying to get some old CD key's for Trainz Classics 3, Trainz SP3 and Trainz 2006 put into my CD Key list for Trainz 2012 so I can carry the old content over.

I read somewhere that you can do this and I am really keen to have the TSC3 content brought into TS2012.

The problem is that Trainz 2012 constantly tells me that my cd key is invalid - yet I have them all on my planet auran account (In fact, I copied them directly from there) I've tried removing the hypens but it's not working.

Anyone can help me?

Your probably doing this but, start trainz select options, general, add Cd key.
Unless it's custom content you should be able to use cm or the DLS to get the assets.

With the exception of 2010 to TS12 where you can add the ja files and the key, you can't add CD keys for old full versions of Trainz, just add-ons.

CD key is only linked to the game you are using. Old content can be imported into newer versions via the import CDP or import file options. Any content that is not built in from older versions can be done this way. Built in content can in some cases be brought into play by adding the .ja files but this could cause a problem if there are duplicate kuids.

Well, this makes sense. Thanks for all your help so far.

So how do you suggest I copy the .ja files from Trainz Classics 3 then? I can't exactly overwrite them because that would obviously bust the game.

Phil,
Not to sure how Trainz Classic 3 contents would go in TS2012. I suspect you would have problems as some of TC3 contents won't be up to 09, 010 & TS2012 spec's.
You might need to get S & C (2009) and install the .ja file & serial number into TS2012.

S & C (09) works well for me in TS2010. (installed snc.ja file into Builtin folder and entered S & C serial number. Then ran database repair in CMP). - Also installed 09 Murchison.ja (& serial) and that works really well in TS2010 as well...

Cheers, Mac...

Never had Trainz Classic so I don't know if it's like 2004 where you can only save your own KUIDs to CDP? In any case, probably the simplest way is to start TS12, and instead of starting the game click the Content button. That takes you into content manager, from there click File, Import Content, and browse to the Trainz Classic folder. Be advised you'll probably need to fix most of it to get it to work in TS12. All of this;

Also applies to TS12, same procedures for fixing stuff.
