TS 2010 Questions

I'm thinking of moving to TS2010 but I have a couple of questions first.

1. Will I be able to use the layers feature with imported routes that I'm still working on. I use UTM tiles from google earth and would like to lock them in place while working in surveyor. Remember this would be on a imported route.

2. Will the great looking old billboard trees be replaced with crappy built in speedtreez when I import old routes? The last thing I want to do is mess up a masterpiece like Dermmy's EK3 when I import it.

1, I'm pretty sure you can, the route and session will be just as they are now but you can add new layers to them.
2 No it won't, the trees in EK3 stay exactly the same. I think it was only some of the older assets that got replaced but the G: Greenery Trees are all fine.

Re trees

I imported a route from TC1&2 into TS2010 and all the trees came over fine. However, I asked the question "to speedtree or not to speedtree" several weeks ago and there seems to be a consensus that speedtrees are actually a performance plus in TS2010, not a negative. Based on that advice, I used the asset replace function and replaced all of my trees with approximately 10 different speedtrees and they look better and work fine. I know there are users that don't like speedtrees but I do.

Regarding the UTM tiles made from Google Earth. Can I import a route in progress with existing UTM tiles, track, and scenery objects? Will I be able to lock down the UTM tiles so they don't move around while I add additional scenery objects?
