Hi all I have a build 37625 do I require the updates to allow the content manager to work properly???

Yes, dear guy, apply all the patches to take your TS 2009 to the highest... to the sky... to heavens... ... to build 44653 and you'll have something very similar to TS 2010.

Beware....BEWARE! Some peoples don't think you should upgrade to SP4! Do some forum research to find out why...

I recently updated to SP4. I haven't had many problems with it yet, just started my first route in it to check it out so can't say much about it.

Performance wise, my FPS went from an average of 12 on built in routes like Tidewater to 45 and higher. EK3 gives around 40 average and the alpha trees look much better. For that I would say it's worth it.

I try to update my first patch 37625 to 40040 and it tells me it fails to apply and aborts the setup any ideas?

The patcher normally gives a reason why - can you post the message given if possible?

Also, if it happens after the word 'Patching...' on it's own appears in the log, you must reinstall first.


Also, register your version of Trainz.

What operating system are you using?

You may need to check your disc for errors, as that can cause things like that to happen.

That's one problem out the way - next thing to do, is to patch without your antivirus turned on (after the reinstall)

Also, if that fails, there may be an issue with your hard drive.

ok thanks shane I also have a laptop with windows 7 maybe a good idea to install there instead?

It should work OK on either, but be aware that Windows 7 requires a few additional steps (running as administrator).

Try reinstalling on the XP system first with the antivirus off, then see if you have any better luck with the patching.

I'd be wary of installing on two systems due to possible registration/licensing issues.
