I've been using two commodities; kuid -25:988 lumber and -25:1357 logs both are build 3.8. In Trainz build 129343 the type has changed to Misc from Commodity and don't work properly. Anyone else have this problem or an explanation.

Thanks Rob

The Misc comes from the olden days when content-types were mixed up. This has something to do with the kind tag in the config.txt file. You can still see this with buildings being categorized as flora occasionally even today.

What's wrong with the assets?

Have you checked for updates?

Both are classified as Misc and are Built-in in my Trainz Plus (b129343). Neither are faulty and no "Newer version is available" for either, according to my CM.

The new way to load rolling stock will not load these even if they are listed in the config file. They don't show in the list of commodities. Show no error nor do they show an updated version. Many sessions use them and rolling stock list them a dependent.
I know they are old, but useful.
Thanks for replies.

I assume you are manually loading cars in surveyor. I had no trouble loading the built-in BNSF flatcar with both of these commodities. The new dialog is a bit different than the old one. In most cases, when a piece of rolling stock is configured to carry commodities, you just click the free standing Add button on the left under the Commodity Levels heading and choose the commodity you want from the drop down. Then move the slider to fully load the car. The slider replaces the popup message that asked for the amount of the load.

Beneath that section is a twist down that starts with Supports and a list of commodities. Clicking on the triangle shows the round dots symbols of the commodities the rolling stock supports. This resembles the old method of loading a car, where you pick a symbol and then add the load amount in a popup message. That has been replaced by the method above. Now the only use for this area is to add a new commodity or to change the way a commodity loads when chosen with the method in the first paragraph.

wreeder, I've used the method you described, mainly when starting a new session. Otherwise, I like to load and unload with industries. I'll try the BNSF flatcar to see if it works for me.
Thanks for the reply.
