Hello All, not sure if this is the right place to put my problem, but Im having an issue with this game (Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006) that i never dealt with before.
Yesterday i have installed this game about 5 times, i dunno what's going but everytime i hit start or manage content both of them just hangs either in the background or it just freezes. I have more then what the minimum requirement to run it. if anyone can help would be much appreciated thanks :)

AMD Athlon(tm)64 X2Dual Core Processor 6000+
3.02 GHz, 2.00 GB of Ram
Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT with 1gb of ram

Please check your hardware.

I had the same problems with the Trs2006 at one time on a brand new high end computer and I found that my video card was defective:eek: and I was lucky that I had a lifetime waranty on it. The replacement card fixed the problems. It would only hang and freeze in Trainz. Also do a memory check and make sure your memory volatages are at the cards rated specs. Example my cards asked for 2.2volts and my motherboard was only providing 1.8volts. If they ar lower then the what the card ask for you will get problems also. The Mother boards seem to default the memory voltages way to low and I had to go into the bios and set up the voltages to the cards needs. Also do a scandisk on you hard drive and check for bad sectors. I hope you get it fixed as I can relate to your frustrations.:(

Good luck:)

Thanks Jjeff, i normally don't mess with the bios since i might make things worse. How would i see the volts for my memory/motherboard and see it is set right? I checked for bad sectors on the hdd and nothing. I had this game installed last year, till ever since i reformatted my comp i get this problem.

Ok it seems I fixed the problem, but now im stuck in a position of whether i need to re-download all the customs trains from the manage content. Can anyone tell me why aren't those trains showing if they are in my Program Files\Auran\TRS2006\local. I hate to wanna download them all if they are there, but not showing in the game under amtrak :(

I hope you backed up your content ?

Any time you do a format you will have to reinstall everything again including drivers for Chipset, Sound, Video, ect.:mop: If you did not save your local folder where your downloaded content is? Then you will have to Redownload all of what you had before. Just remember to always save your Local folder to another drive such as an external or where it is safe and then after a reformat you can import it again.:)
Your Local folder is located in the C:\Porgram files\Auran\Trs2006\Local.

Hi,

It's quite likely that the "hanging" you describe is actually the content manager re-indexing/rebuilding the database files.

Try statrting the content manager program, then going out for an hour or two - that is just let the machine alone. When you return it's likely that the process has finished and all your contnet is there again....

Colprice2002 is more than correct.

:D I had the same problem with the Content Manager. It will say not responding and it is doing it's thing in the background. I should have read Tenshux's problem a bit closer.
