Is there any information if TRS 22 for the Mac will be coded for Intel or the Apple Silicon ARM architecture?

TRS 22 is currently running in beta both in Intel and ARM (with Metal graphics) versions (Universal binary). Nothing lets think the final release woun't be so, as far as I know.

Thanks for the response. I have an M1 iMac so I will be preordering. TRS19 will not run with current OS level (12.2). N3V is working on it but not found info on when that might done.

Got an answer yesterday From tony as follows:

Trainz Plus RC 116434 (Mac) now available[/h]
Trainz Plus RC 116302 to Trainz Plus RC 116434 via Trainz Plus Beta patch stream.

This update fixes the shader startup issue with older OSX versions.

The TRS19 SP5 Mac fix should follow in a few days time.

We also plan to release the official Trainz Plus S20 update this coming week for PC and Mac.

I have an M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16", and use TRS22 as my primary copy of Trainz. The game is exceptionally stable for a beta, and, according to System Info, the app is Universal, meaning Intel and Apple Silicon Macs can run the game. Runs perfectly fine on both my current and old MacBook Pro. You shouldn't have trouble running TRS22 with either Mac architecture.

For a given hardware setup, "smoothness" (for me anyway) is more dependant upon the route, assets used and settings rather than fps. Passing through a desert will be much smoother than passing through a large yard with many yard tracks or a large heavily forested area.

I'm not English mothertongue (I'm Italian) therefore I might not explain clearly my thoughts. I run trs19 sp3 (arm+metal) first on Big Sur. I set my settings in order to have between 30 and 60 fps circa and was very smooth, also at lower fps than 30. But I was forced to move on to Monterey and smothness disappeared. It's "jerky" (Google translator). Wondering if this might be related to Monterey which seems has (or at least had in the first release) memory management issues or what.
Thanks for replying, though.
Simon
