Hi to all,
I am sure these questions have been asked before but I cannot find them in the past forums as I have a slow dial-up connection only..
So here goes...What are the trs 2006 equivelants of trs 2004s custom and dispatcher folders? This is of course so that I can back-up anything I have downloaded and created in 2006...
Also am I able to copy downloaded assets directly from 2004 to 2006 without downloading them all over again to 2006.If yes then how? Also again is there a way I can use trs 2006 assets in trs 2004 i.e. engines...

thank-you for your time and patience..:o

Hi umphies,

In 2006 there is no custom folder. All downloads and custom content go into the "local" folder, so for backups in 2006 save the local folder to a safe place.
Moving content from 2004 to 2006 is much easier than moving from 2006 to 2004 and with some items you can't move them from 2006 to 2004. So for your situation it is better to download to 2004 then import them to 2006. The best way to do this is have a shortcut to the 2004 trainzhelper on your desktop, because everytime you open 2006 your downloads will default to 2006. To fix this just open the 2004 trainzhelper, check the path it will send downloads to, and enter a path to save your CDP files to, then click save. To transfer items from 2004 to 2006 find the item in the folder you selected for your CDP files, and copy it to your desktop or a new folder, I made a folder called transfer for this. When you have copied the CDP close the folder and open CMP from the 2006 launch screen, when CMP has finished updating go to the dropdown menu under FILE and select import CDPs and navigate to your CDP folder. CMP will import the item a give a message when finished but you will then have to commit the item. Automatic commits do not work when importing, it only works on downloads.
Once imported the next step should be to check for errors and import any missing dependancies as dependancies often come in separate CDPs

Hope this helps,
Cheers,
