Trouble installing content

I have been trying for a half hour to install in to TRS2009 a tank (military) by Ronin13. The KUID is 97212:1349. CMP shows it as being on the DLS, it IS on the DLS and I've downloaded it using FTP and still I cannot install the CDP.

The error I get is a useless "Error: Failed to install asset <kuid:97212:1349>"

Well, duh! I already KNOW that so how about a useful error message?

I can't delete it from CMP because it is shown as being on the DLS, I can't install it because it simply won't install. Could some kind person download and see if it will install for them? I'd appreciate it.

Hello Bill. I downloaded it with the DLH, it downloaded and installed, but then showed it as still on the DLS, not my computer.

Same result here too

I experianced the same result. However 97212:1348:1, tank static, and :1350, tank aniimated, did install ok.

I suggest you email ronin13 (kuid:97212), and ask if he/she can fix it.

Thanks very much Loren & Irving. I appreciate the effort. I thought I was going nutz. I'd drag it to the download panel, click Start, and it would say "Downloading" then "Installing" then the error popped up. Very weird.

Next stop - an email.

Content was built for 2004 Trainz

Greets all,

Once in a while I get a email bout some of my content not working with the newer trainz. (Anything newer then 2004)

I have not had time to play with any Trainz past 2004, so content was made for that series. You are sadly,on your own (Or with help from others here on the forum who have the newer versions of Trainz) as far as getting it to work with the newer series. I don't know if the config file is still accessible with the new system, but perhaps take a look in there ? I assume they have a new CCG for newer Trainz,,see if they have changed the way the config text file needs to be written.

If anyone gets a version that works with newer Trainz, please feel free to upload it to the Trainz sharing database, just leave a little footnote about who originally created it! Thanks!

Should I get lucky & have time to play w Trainz again, it still would not help the older content I made, as I would be building completely new content. (My fussiness about super detailing has become even worse since 2004!)

Perfectly understandable. Just for the heck of it, I tried to install it in 2004 - same error when the route loaded.

Don't worry about it at all.
