Trigger to Operate Signals

Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to use triggers to change signals on another line? Sounds strange, I know, but there is method in my madness!

re path rule

Thanks for your reply.
I took a look at the path rule, but I don't think it will do what I want.

What I am actually looking for is a method of making a double track branch from a double track main line work correctly.
As everyone knows, the diamond crossing rule doesn't do the job!
I don't know whether it can be done using triggers, but it's worth a try!

Have you tried "Trigger Multiple Signals" (KUID2:116387:26:1)?

It turns one or more specified signals to danger when a specified trigger is occupied by a train. I use it to protect diamond crossings, amongst other things. Place a trigger at the middle of the diamond on one line and set the rule to control a signal on the other line. To protect the other line just add a second instance of the rule, and another trigger (if that makes sense).

You may have to experiment with the trigger radius for best results, but a bigger radius is better because you don't want the protection kicking in when the train is almost on the diamond - better to have it come in when the train is further away.

Thanks for your replies.
I decided to give 'Trigger Multiple Signals' a try, so I downloaded it and it duly installed itself into Surveyor.
Now something weird has happened. When I use the command in Surveyor 'Add command' and press 'Edit' the trigger command is there, but it will not transfer into the list available in that session!

I've never had that trouble before after downloading commands!

I then tried to transfer other commands from the total available list into the list required in that session. I couldn't do that either.

I'm obviously doing something stupid, bit I can't figure out what. I even checked the manual, and as far as I can see, I'm doing it correctly.
I'm wondering now if my installation of TRS2004 is corrupted in some way!

Does anybody have any ideas please?

Ian:confused:

I don't think it can be that the downloaded rule is corrupted, because none of the other rules that I have previously downloaded can be selected for use either!

I'm beginning to think that it's my TRS2004 itself!

Thanks,
Ian :'(

Everything's OK now. Just my own stupidity! Nothing was wrong.Must be my age catching up on me quicker than I thought! Now I can start to test that trigger rule!Ian

I've finished testing the Multi-Signal trigger Rule.
It has solved my problem and provides a much better solution than the Diamond Crossing Rule.
No more ghost trains passing through each other!
