Did anyone try this when not at my desk sipping a nice coffe somewhere and want to check the cmp and dl from the dl station using ftp seem not to work.
Advice very welcome.
Responses in other threads make it clear that there is a chasm which may not be bridged between the PC and tablet platforms. But I will admit that it might be salutary to have an Android and an iOS app that would allow at least browsing the contents of the DLS, if not downloading contents.
This is sounds like an interesting thing to try. I have one of those Transformer things myself. I never thought of it - I have enough trouble trying to browse the web on it because I tend to maximize the screen or click on the wrong thing! (I guess I'm not as adept at these things like my 12 year old nephew is).
I'm wondering if you might have to play with the security settings on the tablet. The DLS uses javascript (not Oracle Java), and you might have to enable the scripting on it if you've got it disabled. The other thing too is what about storage space. There isn't a whole lot of space on these things.

I just got a Samsung Tablet, which takes a Micro SD card; but while the information on the website of the institution I got mine says that it takes a 16 GB microSD, in fact, when I put a 32 GB microSD in the slot, it recognized the entire thing without problem. So, storage should not be an issue.
I tried this for those cases you are not home sitting somewhere and relax anc check the forum and discover an item you wonna dl and quick and straight forward use the tablet 10.1 (compared to ipad samsung is an avbosulte marvel and open not crazy insane restricted like apple!).
So this would be nice to be able to dl or at least well put it in the cart if ftp is not an option.
No real big thing until in a few years the tablets are grapheen gaming monsters, waiting for that one to wittness and run trainz on an rolled up sreen foil sort of thing, incl 3D holographic projections to make trainz run in the living room for real. haha
thanks for posting! yes 16gb or 32gb is more than enough for little downloads I talked about.
