TRIAL PLEASE???

I think what Ron meant to say is "No, there is not.":hehe:

Regardless, if you patch 2009 to SP4 you basically will have the features of 2010 without the Triffids. I know there will be some disagreement with that statement, but for all intents and purposes, it's the closest to a trial you're going to get...

Trainz12 is another matter, you're clearly out of luck there!

NO.

Have fun,

En Oh, dear Ed, that's what good old Ron meant :hehe:... Of late he's saving words and money to purchase the next Trainz instalment...

Trainz for Antz 3.1416

[Just joking, you know me well] ;)

I know how he feels. :D Sometimes I also feel like an aardvark saying Nooooooooooooo to iterative posts and threads. Sometimes I know how miserable the Forum searcher feels at realizing how it, (no, sorry, the searcher is masculine), he is obviated and relegated to a mere

in the trainzy sky. :hehe:

Anyway, if the Ace of Funk needs another medical opinion: :hehe:

Hi malik,

Somewhere on these forums someone asked for a TS 12 demo to test would-be customers.

I'm afraid that the time for Trainz demos passed away and the Company won't agree with that. Maybe a word from them on this, yea or nay, would be useful to discard the option completely.

There is no trial version of Widows7, nor trial versions of Music downloads ... why woud there be a trial version of TS12 ? ? ? :hehe:

If one has a questionable PC ...then you need to add better hardware, like a video card ... or a new PC that can handle TS12.

Oh, c'mon, dear guy, no need to hyper... ;)

:hehe:There are tons of trial version software... later pirated into full . No need to hide that malpractice.

But the time of demos in game software is passing away... IMO.

Wow!
What the hell has happened to this place?

A relatively new member of the forum asks a simple question, and gets an abrupt "No"
Didn't you used to be a Mod?
You're certainly old enough to know better.

It's good to see that the likes of Ed and Alberte are still around to compensate for those who don't want to help others, but still.

Smiley.

This question is very understandable. TRS 2004 offered such a trial version (no access to DLS, limited routes ...). I downloaded and tried it - and immediately ordered the full version, because the trial-version was convincing good.
Does Auran not trust that a trial version of the new versions would lead testers to buy the full version?

A trial version would give you no estimation on how the "Real Game" would affect framerates on your PC, which would be a whole nutter ball game.

A demo version is just how I got in to Trainz, from the cover disc of a PCFormat magazine. Once I tried that demo, I was hooked like a junkie and had to have more, and it's been costing me money ever since for the last seven years. :p

..........................

Well, I got Trainz 2010 today, wish I had not bothered-it's slow! You see a trial would have been useful as I now wish I had got Railworks 2 instead:(! Thanks to all you who answered me nicely!

Dear F_A,

;) Just asking, is there a RW2 demo available?

If it isn't, how could you know it would perform better?

Those of us who have both of them know... but I'm not iterating the up-and-down-floor neighbouring famous thread on RW;
dolorcabeza.gif
noooooooooo, please, not another on that... for a long long time. ;)

The only thing left to say is that one should always find the recommended+something else specs for a game, never the minimum.

If it's slow then you must be playing on Fred Flintstone's computer because my gaming rig isn't exactly high end or new. Check out some recent threads in the TS2010 or Parts and Labour or feel free to post some computer specs.

So, you decided to disregard the posts.... from a simple NO...to more text oriented answers...and purchased the product.

I apologize if some thought my answer appeared rude, short or unhelpful...but the net result is that the OP bought the product and is now unhappy.

Regards,

C'mon, Ron, he doesn't know he'll feel happy in the end for not having purchased RW2. Oooooooooh, nooooooooooooo, I said I didn't want another one of that kind... I mean youknowhat2, the unnameable one. :hehe:

And the Company is happy too. ;) They'll know now how important we core old-timers are on the forums; sometimes they doubt or underestimate it.

The happy together side of Alberte

Well you've been experienced in enough Trainz versions to know how it would have worked on your PC, I would imagine 2009 would have schooled you on that.
So, what are the differences between 2009 and 2010, and what settings do you have to change to increase your speed? Are the SpeedTriffids slowing you down? Is it the draw distance? Before buying 2010 did you take a look at the minimum and recommended PC specs? Was your performance satisfactory in 2009?
There are a wealth of threads here to advise you how to improve your performance if you so desire.
As far as wishing you had purchased Railworks instead, I can't help you with that. If you haven't found out already life is chock full of decisions that may or may not lead to regret. I should know.

I was married for ten years!

Good luck to you, whatever buying decision you decide to make.
