This is hard to describe, but here goes...most of the trees in Trainz2009 are comprised of flat planes put together around a common intersecting trunk center. This becomes apparent when viewed from certain angles, but isn't really a problem. But what I do find annoying is that even though the background behind the individual plane is mostly transparent, it blocks out splines - including rails. So if you're looking from the right angle, the track or road or fence or other tree splines behind it disappears, creating gaps that spoils the effect. The default "tree" doesn't have this, but I'd obviously like to be able to use more than one kind of tree!
I do have a screen cap that shows this, but I'm not able to post it here without a URL...and I'm not interested in signing up for any of those picture sharing sites just for this. I'd be happy to email it to anyone who needs to see it to help.
Is this just the way it works? Or is there a rendering issue or bug involved? I'm running on a Dell Vostro laptop, which I know isn't optimal, but it does pretty darn well otherwise. I'm patched up to SP3 (holding off on 4 given the bugs reported).
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
