Since when is grass growing on roads

Ever Sense grass the evasive weed it is came in contact with roads course! Or maybe a track gang haven't came through in awhile? Maybe spring rains sprouted new grass? Or a hopper car could of leaked some seeds out. All of those are common reasons for some grass on the tracks.
