Trainz won't load? Help please?

There probably won't be any updated drivers for it anyway other than maybe Intels old OpenGL drivers. That particular chipset is reportedly so bad I won't even bother commenting on it.

There is a third party alternative that can sometimes help here, http://titaniumgl.tk/an openGL wrapper. Never used it myself although I have used other OpenGL and or Glide wrappers in the past that worked reasonably well in their time.

When I have the display settings set to open GL it won't load at all, just comes up with an error straight away, through direct x it goes to the black screen as if it's loading then it comes up with the thing to close program

I will look later on updating my graphics card! My best take is seeing if my brother will let me have his old computer and get it working properly!

deleted, i started thinking !!

2006, the first version with a real CM, absolutely required a robust OpenGL installation to work properly. I really don't know if that's changed, but then again, it could be the root of Tommy's troubles.

I really fail to understand why Intel can create state of the art processors and motherboard chip sets and then supply junk for the graphics.

I'd first update the graphics drivers on the system you've got - might get you in the game and be simpler than canning the whole system. Just my $0.02;)

Intel does not do very well at updating their graphics drivers, but if there is one please update it. From my experience with Intel Graphics, it may not do much.

Hello, while we're on the topic of graphics cards, I just want to verify the ability of mine to keep up with TS12. Running from C:\Program Files\N3V Games\TS12, I get at least 15 FPS on untextured baseboards with a mix of low-poly and high-poly mesh objects. The following is copied from Shane's utility:

Graphics Card 1
Graphics Card:Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
Dedicated Memory:1,797.93MB
Driver Version:8.15.10.2372
Date of current driver:20110415000000.000000-000
Video Memory:1.76 GB (1,797.93 MB)

EDIT: I do have DirectX 9.0c. Running Windows 7 SP1 64-bit with a quad-core 2.20 GHz Intel processor (Core i3). Computer build (laptop) is an HP Pavilion dm4t. CM locks up occasionally as does TS12, though I suspect this might be the security issues with Program Files

Not much chance of being able to run any larger TS12 routes with that Graphics I'm afraid, Intel are years behind.

From a review "Intel HD graphics can only run basic games and handle Windows graphic applications"

...and I felt like a hoser running my Radeon HD 5450 cause it's cheap in more ways than one.:hehe: I had no idea Intel was so bad, but I've heard it about 5 times in the last week. Been a loyal AMD customer for years now:D On a bad day I get down to 12fps on a complex route. Not tryin to knock anybody's gear, just an observation.

Just wondering? Are there any massive computer experts at fixing them? My brother has given me his old computer, and seems to have a big problem on it!

Hi, i have a smilier problem you see when i try to load it a message comes up saying this-Your Computer Software is unable to work with your computer-then theres some stuff about directx9 and some of stuff on it. Plese help:'(

Welcome to the forums.

Make sure you have DirectX 9.0C up to date - see my DXInstallHelper thread for advice and my automated fix.

Secondly, check the Trainz Options box (accessed by clicking Options on the Launcher), and check that the resolution etc are correct.
