I have a DVD that I recieved with my Trainz 2006 The Complete Collection, it has I list of Routes on it. It also says that you need to have Trainz 2006 Installed in order for you to Load or install the routes. Can someone tell me what I need to do to use those routes 1-4

Thank You ! cloud9

G'Day cloud9, It is pretty easy, install TRS06 and check that it functions OK, then insert the"The Complete Collection" disc and install. Your extra routes will now be in TRS06.

I will give that a try and get back to you if it does not work. The problem is.... that I have 3 disks 1. is utc. & 2004. disc 2 is 2006 and disc 3 is just the 4 extra Routes 1-4 it is just an expantion pack 20 Routes in all. I installed tranz 2006 already, I just need to transfer the expansion pack to the tranz 2006. There is no " Trainz The Complete Collection " That is just the name of the name of the Program! There are 3 disks like I said above, 1 is utc. and 2004 disk 2 is just 2006 and disk 3 is just the Routes 1-4 total of 20 Routes.

Since you have installed TRS2006, you do not need to install UTC or TRS2004. To access the routes, install the routes-only into TRS2006.

I don't have that version so I can't help you with the install. They are either dones as an EXE file (setup type thing), or as CDP files where you import them using CMP.

G'Day Cloud9, If you already have TRS06 installed and running just use the Disc 3 (Routes 1-4) it will install to TRS2006.

I-potals

I was wondering if you could give me a few hints on useing the I-potals in 2006? When ever I go into the I-portal tunnels the whole train just disapers and that's it! It gone! It never comes out!:o

In surveyor you need to set it to consume trains, and you set the "Train returns after (enter value here) minutes" then you set what portal you want it to return in.

Hope this helps!

The IPortal works slightly differently - if you want a train to return, use a standard portal (known as Portal or Portal Basic)

I have the same collection and the only disk I can get to work is the one for trs2006. When I try to load routes 1-4 I get an "error 1045, elevation required". I even tried it with my firewall off. What are these extractor programs and how do I access them?

Instead of opening the disk, you right-click on it and select 'explore' from the menu. Install it using the application type file in the Trainz Routes sections.

Hope this helps!

Elevation required usually only appears if you are not running the installers as admin on Windows Vista or 7 - you may have to go into the appropriate folder, right-click the installation file, and choose run as administrator. (if using Windows Vista 0r 7)

I had to do it the same way, just explore the disk with the routes 1-4 look for the right folder and then you can move the routes into the 2006 folder. It took me a little time, but with trial and error I got it to work !

Thanks got it to work. I figured I had to run as administrator since my trainz games are set for that. Can`t wait to run trains on some of the routes, just checking them out in surveyor first.

Cloud9. Did you only ever load TRS2006.

I have the same pack. TRS2004 is a great version with great scenarios. (Also has a low graphics Paint shed I don't really use).

If you haven't yet, load it up and give it a go. With modern computers the driving is very smooth and can max out the detail.
